Casual Fridays and More Fun with Putin

I don’t know whether they have “casual day” in Russia, but it seems Putin does…probably whenever he wants. This observation is only based on every other photo that comes to us with Putin in the pic.

I once read that no one in Cuba except Fidel may wear a beard. Seemed far fetched at the time, but it is probably true. What better fun could a despot have than to remind everyone on the Island, each morning in front of the mirror, that someone else is the Head Comrade? I always look at photos of Cubans still unfortunate enough to live in the Worker’s Paradise to see if they have a beard or mustache. Over those several years I’ve never even seen a five-o’clock shadow. Of course, I haven’t seen many photos come out of Cuba. Maybe they’re out of cameras… or camera parts …or film …like they’re out of house paint and auto parts.

Maybe “Shirtless” Putin is just reminding all other Ruskies that he is the Head Komrade and only he can go shirtless. Maybe he is just reminding everyone else he can go shirtless and not make the Free World …the shrinking Free World … fall down laughing. Or lose their lunch. Maybe he is just taunting Mr. “Mom Jeans” Obama that he …unlike Obama …can shoot a two foot basketball layup with his dominant hand and not miss everything. Or wrestle a bear. Or …tsk…tsk…shoot a rifle. A really big rifle.

I wonder if Putin plays baseball. I wonder if international politics was more like major league baseball whether we could trade leaders with Russia. I know Putin is a bad guy, but people can change. If he were to live in America for a few years and took a vacation from torturing people and other KGB antics, he might just get softened up by a daily Starbucks, laughing with Rush, the occasional quiche, getting away from that steady diet of vodka and beets, watch some bull riding, Duck Dynasty, Leave it to Beaver, Perry Mason, Mork and Mindy, Columbo, Barney Fife and laugh a little. He would probably start to loosen up and have some fun … you know …a different kind of fun than the stuff his current pals fool around with within the bowels of the KGB.

I think Putin would like it and after a brief period of “re-education” he could get to work turning our country around.

Putin might take a while to de-compress, but I have no doubt Obama would immediately fit right in at the Kremlin. He and his pals already have the right mindset. He could take Lerner, the IRS, Department of Justice, Department of Education, EPA, NSA, Google and Boston Children’s Hospital tyrants with him.

Just kidding, but I can dream …unless Google tells the boys over at NSA, who would then talk to IRS and … hey…just forget I wrote this.

Steve Bowers

Steve Bowers grew up on a farm in Indiana, attended Indiana University and went into the construction business. While working on a construction project at a law school he was appalled at how lawyers could screw stuff up on a simple building project. Thinking he could do better, Steve went to law school. He’s pretty naive.
