Horror: Aborted Babies Are Used as Fuel in UK Hospitals

The National Health Service, Britain’s largest employer, has confessed to burning thousands of aborted fetuses. The kicker is that these fetuses were being burned as fuel in the heating plants of NHS hospitals.

The Telegraph reported on Monday:

The bodies of thousands of aborted and miscarried babies were incinerated as clinical waste, with some even used to heat hospitals…Ten NHS trusts have admitted burning foetal remains alongside other rubbish while two others used the bodies in “waste-to-energy’” plants which generate power for heat. Last night the Department of Health issued an instant ban on the practice…

While the report is ghoulish, on a scale that would only be rivaled by discovering that fetuses had been used to feed Britain’s indigent, it should not really surprise anyone. Britain is in the vanguard of Europe’s Green energy push; why not recycle “rubbish” for fuel?

The Telegraph shared additional, gruesome details:

At least 15,500 foetal remains were incinerated by 27 NHS trusts over the last two years alone…(it was) found that parents who lose children in early pregnancy were often treated without compassion and were not consulted about what they wanted to happen to the remains. One of the country’s leading hospitals, Addenbrooke’s in Cambridge, incinerated 797 babies below 13 weeks gestation at their own “waste-to-energy” plant. The mothers were told the remains had been “cremated.”

The best that can be said about that last sentence is that it wasn’t a lie. The Telegraph continued the grisly tale:

Another “waste-to-energy” facility at Ipswich Hospital, operated by a private contractor, incinerated 1,101 foetal remains between 2011 and 2013. They were brought in from another hospital before being burned, generating energy for the hospital site. Ipswich Hospital itself disposes of remains by cremation.

There is so much that is so terribly wrong here, that it is difficult to know where to begin. Setting aside the knotty and abhorrent issue of abortion, one is left with treating human remains with dignity. To review:

— Thousands of dead fetuses were burned by NHS hospitals over a period of years, alongside “other rubbish,” to provide fuel.
–Parents were not consulted about what they wanted done with the bodies of miscarried or aborted children.
— Ipswich Hospital, sanctimonious about cremation practices for fetuses aborted at their own institution, imported aborted fetuses from other locations to be used as an Ipswich Hospital heating source.
— Having been found out, the Department of Health issued a declaration that raised the bar for British understatement to a whole, new level. The Telegraph quotes Dr. Dan Poulter, Health Minister of The Department of Health: “This practice is totally unacceptable.” Well, that certainly covers it; years of macabre practices aside, it is good to know that the DOH now regards burning corpses for heat “unacceptable.”

What makes this story news-worthy aside from its shock value is, of course, what the implications might be for the United States. How are fetuses presently disposed of here? Wiki Answers responds: “They are sent to a lab for pathology then disposed of as medical waste, just as a tumor or other removed tissue would be. All clinics in the US are required to track ALL fetal tissue and dispose of it properly.”

Just like ”tumors or other removed tissue”? Another answer claims: “In the UK a fetus is disposed of sensitively, either buried or cremated as chosen by the mother, if she wishes to make that choice. The fetus has its own individual container, but shares a casket with other fetuses.” According to Monday’s news, not really.

Britain’s NHS aside, America has her own abortion-detritus horror stories. In February of 2014, Life News reported : “Joseph Booker Jr., abortionist, kept bags of aborted babies as souvenirs in a storage unit…. the fetuses came from a storage room Booker had rented in nearby Gulfport, a city where he had performed abortions at a gynecology clinic.” Booker’s souvenir storage unit was sold, “sight unseen” at auction after Booker’s death. Apparently, more than three dozen trash bags of the unit’s contents “smelled” and the new owner had an employee bury the offending matter without knowing what it was.

Abortion is a foundation block of Obamacare. So, what’s the forecast for us? The Lyin’ King’s militant cadre of “My Body My Self” adherents will, in all probability, applaud the NHS horror story, refashioning it with a liberal spin, to make it seem reasonable. After all, NHS is The Lyin’ King’s template for the future of American health care; why not throw in a renewable energy source and eliminate two problems with one solution?
