Gotcha? The Lyin’ King Owns Benghazi’s Smoking Gun

On Tuesday afternoon FOX reporter Catherine Herridge broke the news that a Senior White House aide, Ben Rhodes, had written an email to Susan Rice, instructing her to blame the Benghazi debacle on a spontaneous uprising over an-all-but-unknown video which had appeared on YouTube. Not only was a general direction indicated but specific instructions were provided.

The FOX News story provided details:

The Rhodes email, with the subject line: “RE: PREP Call with Susan: Saturday at 4:00 pm ET,’” was sent to a dozen members of the administration’s inner circle, including key members of the White House communications team such as Press Secretary Jay Carney. In the email, Rhodes specifically draws attention to the anti-Islam Internet video…The email lists the following two goals, among others:
“To underscore that these protests are rooted in an Internet video, and not a broader failure of policy.”
“To reinforce the President and Administration’s strength and steadiness in dealing with difficult challenges.”

A complete copy of the Rhodes memo, including recipients and specific talking points, can be viewed at the following website: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/interactive/2014/04/29/email-links-white-house-advisor-to-spin-blaming-benghazi-on-film/.

FOX News wasn’t done: “The email goes on to state that the U.S. government rejected the message of the Internet video. ‘We find it disgusting and reprehensible. But there is absolutely no justification at all for responding to this movie with violence,’ the email stated.”

Sound familiar? It should; that line had blared from television screens and newspapers, non-stop, and was faithfully parroted by every member of the regime from the Lyin’ King down since the Benghazi travesty took place. Mr. Rhodes must, however, be corrected on one point. The video meme is not nearly as “disgusting and reprehensible” as is the outright lie, spanning years, that the most “transparent administration in history” has tried to shovel over the dead Americans in Benghazi and the living consciousness’ of outraged Americans.

That opinion appears to be shared by Judicial Watch President, Tom Fitton. Newsmax reports: “

“Now we know the Obama White House’s chief concern about the Benghazi attack was making sure that President Obama looked good…And these documents undermine the Obama administration’s narrative that it thought the Benghazi attack had something to do with protests or an Internet video. Given the explosive material in these documents, it is no surprise that we had to go to federal court to pry them loose from the Obama State Department,” he added, referring to the organization having obtained the documents through a Freedom of Information Act request.

Breitbart shared additional items of interest pertaining to Rhodes’ involvement:

Politico‘s Carol Lee had once described Rhodes as “one of the obscure guys who wrote Obama’s campaign speeches in Starbucks and played video games into the early morning hours…Now he attends national security meetings and takes writer’s refuge in a secret office on the third floor of the Eisenhower Executive Office Building…” Rhodes’s brother heads CBS News, which recently lost reporter Sharyl Attkisson – at least partly, she alleges, because the network did not like her reporting on Benghazi and other Obama administration scandals, including Operation Fast & Furious. Rhodes, (Ed Lasky of the American Thinker) says, “will do his boss’s bidding, hiding information, manipulating the facts, distract people: the truth and the American people be damned.

Unless that last statement can be interpreted differently, that smacks of a direct link between Rhodes to the Big Kahuna.

On Tuesday, Business Insider posted the results of a Harvard Institute of Politics Poll. The results showed that “millennials” (people generally aged 18-29) have lost trust in several components of government since 2010, the most notable of which is the presidency. “Trust” plunged from a lackluster 44% in February 2010 to a dismal 32% in April 2014. One can only guess what effect this latest confirmation of The Lyin’ King’s mendacity will do to that percentage.

It has been the opinion of savvy pundits on the Right that The Lyin’ King would never be linked to a “smoking gun” because he only appoints people who already know exactly what he expects of them. Once again, it appears that Our Dear Leader has garnered undeserved overestimation. It is somehow comforting to note that his immeasurable arrogance has tripped him up. He still felt the need to have a staffer provide a script. The thing about a gun, smoking or not, is that it can be pointed in any direction, including at a presidential “legacy.” Just ask Clinton.

Small wonder The Lyin’ King is so hot for gun control.
