Our Neville Chamberlain: Barack Obama’s ‘Peace in Our Time’

In another silly declaration from the Progressive Fantasyland of the White House, Obama press secretary Josh Earnest proved that he has no more grasp of reality than his predecessor Jay Carney. On 7/14 Earnest declared his undying belief in unicorns, leprechauns, fairies and gnomes when he announced that Barack Obama has brought tranquility to the world. “I think that there have been a number of situations in which you’ve seen this administration intervene in a meaningful way that has substantially furthered American interests and substantially improved the tranquility of the global community.”
Here’s how this administration has intervened in the global community, and the results of that intervention. These Obama actions or inactions have all contributed to a time of upheaval, real threats, and serious danger to both the world and the US:
In his first official act, Obama went on his apology tour, which had the president quite literally bowing to Islamists who hate us. This set the tone for Obama’s subsequent lack of engagement in the world; his fake red lines drawn in the Syrian sand over chemical weapons; the welcoming of illegal immigrants to our southern border; the release of the Taliban Top 5 Jihadis; and his feckless submission to the Russians. Obama hasn’t created a vacuum of leadership as much as he has given his approval to the hostile and destructive agents in the world who hate us. He’s cool with it.
After Obama’s apology tour, Jihadis in Benghazi felt free to butcher the American ambassador to Libya. The newest Islamic Jihadis (ISIS) feel free to overrun Iraq. Hamas now feels free to launch a steady rocket assault from Gaza against Israel. These purveyors of global tranquility all realize that there will be no consequences from the US for their actions. O’s backing of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt was a dangerous failure, and now that Egypt has expelled the brotherhood, Russia is supplying Egypt with military aid while we stand on the sidelines. Obama’s timid and farcical red line diplomacy has encouraged more upheaval and continued use of chemical weapons in Syria. His troop departure from Iraq has allowed the country to be swarmed by Jihadi extremists who make Al Queda look mellow.
The comical Boko Haram hashtag diplomacy of Michelle Obama typifies the impotent foreign policy of the Obama administration. His first term Secretary of State (Clinton) denied the CIA’s and FBI’s request to list Nigerian Jihadi mass murderers Boko Haram as a terrorist organization. Boko Haram has kidnapped, murdered, and enslaved, hundreds of Christian children since then and destabilized much of Nigeria.
The Obama administration sees potential terrorists in Gramps and Grannie in the Tea Party, in returning war vets, and supporters of the first and second amendments. But it just can’t bring itself to see terrorism in those who commit mass murder in the name of Allah, who kidnap hundreds of Christian girls, who force conversions, who behead, bomb, and literally crucify infidels or even moderate Muslims. No, those aren’t terrorists; they are patriots like George Washington’s army (according to Dem Congressman Jerrold Nadler).
In March of 2012, Obama promised to Russian President Dimitri Medvedev that, after the election, he would be more flexible. Medvedev gladly advised Obama that he would tell Putin of Obama’s new found flexibility. Less than two years later, Russia invaded Crimea. And, Obama’s toothless foreign policy has allowed a particularly dangerous anti-west and anti-American campaign to flourish on two fronts, either of which could bring disaster that would make 9/11 look like an unfortunate mishap.
Obama’s global impotence has fueled the nuclear weapons and missile programs of two fanatical regimes who have repeatedly promised to destroy the US. Lunatic North Korean leader Kim Jong Un continues to develop and test missiles for the nuclear warheads he has already manufactured, and Kim has threatened to send his nuclear tipped missiles to the US west coast.
Iran continues unabated its headlong rush to nuclear weapons, despite Obama’s promise in his 2008 presidential candidate debates to prevent Iran from manufacturing or securing nuclear weapons. According to Obama’s own buddy, Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz, Obama’s caving on sanctions on Iran emboldened the Mullahs, and could easily produce Obama’s own “Neville Chamberlain moment,” referring of course to the famous “peace in our time” fantasy that Chamberlain peddled to the British after he had given in to the latest of Hitler’s demands on Czechoslovakia. Iran is already on record, dozens of times, as promoting the twin goals of destroying the Great Satan (US) and the Little Satan (Israel), yet in January Obama eased economic sanctions on Iran. Consider the Mullahs emboldened.
Perhaps the most immediate threat to American tranquility is Obama’s invitation to the third world nations of South America to come and partake of the spoils of the US. Not only is the resultant mass immigration already a threat to break the bank of local and state resources, schools, hospitals, and assistance programs, but the crowds coming over the border are perfect cover for the Islamic State Jihadis who want to do great harm to our country. When it is easier for an ISIS Jihadi to come across our southern border than it is for any American citizen to board a flight at one of our 450 commercial airports, then even the tranquil utopia seen from D.C. won’t last much longer.
