DEMOCRATS’ MIDTERM SPANKING: Ten Takeaways

Like most of you, I was not surprised, but was still delighted, that the GOP will need to get some new shoes because they wore out several pairs kicking Democrat butt in this week’s midterm elections. That was fun! Now, though, the time has come to ask ourselves what did it really mean, and where we go from here.

Where Joe Biden Goes, Disaster (and Hilarity) Ensues

Honestly, this man could screw up a one car funeral. He is a perpetual gaffe machine, and his latest gaffe probably helped the pathetic Republican incumbent Sen. Pat Roberts win his race against “independent” (actually a stealth Democrat) Greg Orman. In an interview with a Connecticut radio station on Election Day, Joe outed Mr. Orman, stating “We have a chance of picking up an independent who will be with us in the state of Kansas.” Orman had spent practically his entire campaign denying that he is really a member of the Jackass Party. God love ya, Joe! What were your thinking?

Attack Ads Against a Disabled Opponent Focusing on His Wheelchair Are Ill-Advised

Speaking of what were they thinking, Democrat Texas gubernatorial candidate, Wendy “Abortion Barbie” Davis, decided to run an ad attacking her opponent, Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott, who has been in a wheelchair since he was injured in a freak accident. In the ad a narrator says “A tree fell on Greg Abbott. He sued and got millions,” over the image of the wheelchair. “Since then, he’s spent his career working against other victims.” Oh boy. Not cool. Abbott beat Davis like a drum.

Liberal Media Predictions of Payback for Right-Wing “Extremists” Are Always Wishful Thinking

For several weeks leading up to the election, unelected democrats, also known as “journalists,” especially on NBC and its insane troglodyte illegitimate child, MS-NBC, were gleefully anticipating the defeat of Kansas governor, Republican Sam Brownback, a conservative who committed the unspeakable crimes of supporting the 2nd amendment, being pro-life, and cutting taxes and spending. Here’s an example from some blogger guy named Teddy Wilson, at the ironically-named Reality Check site, which is representative of the kind of foolishness that liberals spewed about the Kansas governor race:

Swept into office during the GOP-dominated 2010 midterms, Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback pursued one of the most conservative political agendas ever hatched. Now, in the closing days of the 2014 campaign, the results of the agenda that Brownback championed have put the governor in serious danger of being defeated by a Democratic challenger. …

The blowback that Brownback is facing is in large part due to the far right policies he has pushed, which include an expansion of gun rights, draconian cuts to the social safety net, and far-reaching restrictions on abortion access.

Brownback has come under the most criticism for conservative economic reforms that he supported and pushed through in the early years of his governorship. In 2012 the governor signed into law one of the largest tax cuts in the state’s history, which critics said would cost the state more than $2 billion over five years.

You know how this movie ends. Gov. Brownback won re-election, becoming only the second Republican governor in Kansas to win re-election in 50 years.

It reminds me of another right-wing “extremist”, Ronald Reagan, who in 1984 came within 3000 votes of carrying all 50 states.

If a Candidate Will Not Admit That She Voted for the President of Her Party, That Candidate is Toast

Could there be anything more stupid than Democrat candidates refusing to admit that they voted for Barack Obama? If we could do a freeze-frame on Alison Grimes’ campaign to unseat Sen. Mitch McConnell in Kentucky, we could probably pinpoint the exact second that her efforts were completely undone, the minute she refused to say that she had voted for the One. Seriously, Alison? How hard would it have been to say “I’m a Democrat, and I support the candidate of my party. I had high hopes, but I’ve been very disappointed in a lot of decisions he’s made.” Easy peasy, unless you are listening to dunderhead consultants.

Motivating the Low-information Cohort Required to Elect Democrats Requires Telling Some Serious Whoppers (and Sometimes Even That Doesn’t Work)

Many people were shocked to learn that high profile pop culture figures, all urging their fans to go out and vote for Democrats, had not voted in past mid-term elections themselves. This fact should have surprised no one. The poster girl for this whole strategy of using pop culture stars to get young people to vote, the ridiculously untalented Lena Dunham, admitted that she didn’t vote in 2004 presidential election, even though she was eligible to do so. I guess the haughty patrician John “Lurch” Kerry just didn’t do it for her.

When you’re trying to get people who couldn’t name their Congressmen at gunpoint to care about politics, sometimes you have to tell them things that aren’t true to get them to believe that it matters. For example, in the Colorado Senate race, the democratic candidate Mark Udall aka “Mark Uterus” had to try to convince Lena Dunham types that his opponent wanted to outlaw contraception. Stop and think about how stunningly ignorant a person would have to be to be persuaded by that pitch. Uh, hello? Even if Cory Gardner wanted to outlaw contraception, a single U.S. Senator would have exactly ZERO chance of accomplishing that objective. Perhaps even the lo-fo’s that the Dems were targeting weren’t dumb enough to fall for that/

Conservatives Will Support RINO’s for the Good of America, Even Though It’s a One-Way Street

We know that Sen. McConnell is a RINO who hates conservatives, but getting rid of the evil reanimated corpse as Majority Leader Sen. Harry Reid was absolutely essential, so conservatives voted for him. We will always do what’s necessary for the good of the country, even if it means helping candidates who would sooner die than support a Tea Party candidate. We’re better than they are. That’s the truth.

When the Game is on the Line, Americans Are Smart Enough to Not Throw Away Their Votes on Third-Party Candidates

Pre-election polls in Georgia predicted that Republican David Perdue would not receive at least 50%, and would therefore have to win in a run-off. One reason was the presence of Libertarian candidate, Amanda Swafford. Polls reflected that she might receive 4% of the vote. It didn’t happen. She got 1.9%. Clearly, once inside the voting booth, voters realized that it was crunch time.

Irony of Ironies: The One Time It Is Actually All About Obama, He Doesn’t Want to Admit It

In a post-thumping presser on Wednesday, November 5, Barack Obama said, “What stands out to me, though, is that the American people sent a message, one that they’ve sent for several elections now. They expect the people they elect to work as hard as they do. They expect us to focus on their ambitions and not ours. They want us to get the job done. All of us in both parties have a responsibility to address that sentiment.” Both parties? No, Barry. This defeat is completely on you, and everyone knows it.

This Victory Does Not Mean That the Country Has Suddenly Understood That Obama is a Radical Leftist Who Should Have Never Been Elected in the First Place

As tempting as it might be to do so, we must not read too much into these results. You and I understand that Barack Obama is a hard-wired leftist, and that nothing that has happened over the last six years should be a surprise. I’m afraid that most of the voters do not. Some of them actually voted for Obama, if not once, even twice. They just look around and see the country in disarray. Be it Ebola, ISIS, food stamps or the lack of decent jobs, the American people know that something is not right. Still, let’s not kid ourselves. This fact does not mean that they connect the dots between Obama’s radical left-wing ideology and the bad place that our country is in.

Our Work Has Just Begun

So, it’s our job to educate our fellow citizens about liberty, free markets and the reason to vote for Constitutional conservatives. It’s time to get to work, Patriots.

What say you? What do you think are the biggest takeaways from the midterm elections?
