BOOM: Andrew Dossi, Wounded NYPD Officer, Didn’t Like De Blasio’s Visit

A shootout in the Bronx left two NYPD officers wounded, and when one of the police officers received a visit from New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, he was less than thrilled.

Andrew Dossi, 30, was with his partner, Aliro Pellarano, 38, when they were shot by a robber at a grocery store on Jan. 5. Both men are expected to recover, but while Dossi was at St. Barnabas Hospital, NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton visited him repeatedly and brought de Blasio with him.

Dossi’s father, Joseph Dossi, told the New York Post that his son was unhappy about de Blasio’s visit.

“[Andrew] deals with some crappy people every day, and getting no support (from the mayor), come on,” Joseph said. “These are the guys in the trenches dealing with anything and everything.”
