ENOUGH! Don’t Like ‘Insensitive’ Prom Picture? Everything Doesn’t Revolve Around YOU!

The latest uproar is about a group of white teen’s prom picture packing serious fire power and the Confederate Flag. MSN has the caption, “Is this the most insensitive prom picture ever?”

I say ENOUGH!

These kids by right of the First Amendment have the right to free speech. They have the right in our free country of America to take any kind of pictures they want. They were enjoying themselves and had no verbiage in the picture about white supremacy or killing anyone belonging to any specific group, or encouraging that the South rise again, or that Nazism is king.

Why is it insensitive for whites and Christians to exercise their First Amendment rights? It seems that it is okay for ALL other groups to be separatist, exclusive and / or offensive to whites and Christians.

We have BET, Black Entertainment Television. We have Black Movie Awards, for recognizing African Americans in the film business. We have black only colleges, as mentioned and supported by the Negro College Fund.

That is fine, but if a white only version of any of these organizations is presented in any form, there is laments and wails to the heavens about how insensitive, discriminatory, racist or haters the founders and participants are being.

Any righteous and justified anger against Muslim fanatics who often kill in the name of their god is addressed by the media and the left as insensitive and unjust. There are even some who would suggest that speaking out against such fanatics become classified as a hate crime?

The time has come for all of these super-sensitive, feelings-easily-hurt groups to get over themselves. Just because their mothers call them “son” does not mean that the world revolves around them. It isn’t all about you, surprise, you aren’t the focus of everyone’s lives in the world.

The last seven years have brought a ridiculous level of ME, ME, ME to a large majority of citizens, regardless of faith, race, religion or creed. Never in the history of the United States has there been such a division among the denizens.

There are three lessons that need to be taught both by parents (as mine did) and the schools:

LIFE IS NOT FAIR, GET OVER IT!

IT IS NOT ABOUT YOU ALL THE TIME! TRY A LITTLE ALTRUISM!

YOU ARE ENTITLED TO NOTHING. WORK FOR WHAT YOU WANT!

We have certain unalienable rights. Do not step on those of your neighbor and hopefully, they will not step on yours.

Your personal freedom stops at the end of your nose. Try to remember that when you think you might need some special attention. It is just NOT about you, it is about the individual freedom!!
