What do you think of this dad’s parenting style? In this video, he describes how he lets his boys ‘choose’ the life that they want. I wonder if he would feel that way if his boys decided they wanted to be adulterers or do drugs? Does that count as their choice? Or, how about if one of them told Mom and Dad that they wanted to be a cat? Would they try to get them a species reassignment surgery?
Of course parents always love their children no matter what, but the last time I checked, that doesn’t mean endorsing choices that might be harmful to them. It looks like this dad has never read this proverb: Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him. (Proverbs 22:15)
