IT’S NOT COMPLICATED: The Idiot’s Guide to Defining an Illegal Alien

A “progressive” Democrat congressman has filed to make it illegal for the term “Illegal Alien”, combined or separate to be written or spoken for any federal government use.  In response, I looked up these two words, separately and then as a legal term.
Alien – Alien or Aliens may refer to: Extraterrestrial life, life which does not originate from earth; Alien (law), a person in a country who is not a national of that country; belonging or owing political allegiance to another country or government.

Illegal – (Merriam-Webster) Definition of ILLEGAL: a person who enters or lives in a country without the documentation required for legal entry or residence.  Additionally: prohibited by law; prohibited by official rules.

Illegal Immigrant; Law and Legal Definition (From

An illegal immigrant is a person who has entered the country without official authorization. Federal immigration law provides means by which certain aliens can become naturalized citizens with full rights of citizenship. Immigration law determines who may enter, how long they may stay and when they must leave.

The main legislation governing immigration is the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952, (INA). The act has been amended numerous times, the most significant of which was the establishment of a new quota system in 1965. For INA purposes, an “alien” is any person who is not a citizen or a national of the United States. There are different categories of aliens: resident and nonresident, immigrant and non-immigrant, documented and undocumented (“illegal”).

Immigration law is under the control of Congress. Presidential power is limited to policies on refugees. Courts will not become involved in immigration issues unless constitutional rights are involved.

Several laws have been passed to strengthen regulation of illegal immigration practices, such as hiring of illegal aliens and sham marriages. Congress enacted the Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA) of 1986, which toughened criminal sanctions for employers who hire illegal aliens, denied illegal aliens federally funded welfare benefits, and legitimized some aliens through an amnesty program. The Immigration Marriage Fraud Amendments of 1986 attempts to curb sham marriages for the sole purpose of obtaining citizenship.

Immigration policies are implemented by granting or denying visas. There are two types of visas: immigrant and non-immigrant. Non-immigrant visas are primary issued to tourists and temporary business visitors. Only a few categories of non-immigrant visas allow their holders work in the United States. Immigrant visas permit their holders to stay in the United States permanently and ultimately to apply for citizenship. An alien who has an immigrant visa is permitted to work in the United States. Congress limits the overall number of immigrant visas, and many immigrant visas are also subject to per-country caps.

This all seems pretty clear to me, but apparently not to the politically correct extreme left of this administration. I’m wondering why this congressman has so much time to waste on the citizen’s dollar.  Note that each word defined above, serves the same definition as when they are combined.  I conclude that his intent is to polish those that come here to at minimum disparage our country or likely the intent of many, to destroy it.  But we should expect no less from congressional idiots that spend our hard earned tax money solving problems that the consumer could give a damned less about; like toilet tank volumes, light bulbs, solar energy, electric cars, shrimp treadmills, turtle crossings, and the sex lives of never before heard of foreign bugs.

If the congressman wishes to truly be politically correct, strike the term Afro-American, (or African-American).  That implies dual loyalty.  A better and more accurate term would be: “American” and if chosen by the individual, that person alone may add; “of African heritage”.  That self-definition blends well with other Americans of Irish, English, Italian, German, Swedish, Indian, Pakistani, Thai, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, etc. heritage.  Politically correct is that each person is an American, a LEGAL Alien, an Illegal Alien, or a legal visitor.

One clue of intent for everyone within our borders might be determined by individual self-definition. For citizens, the bottom line is that either you are or are not an American first.  If the country of your ancestral origin comes first, immigrate back to that place where you may spread your dislike for this country.  We who believe in the United States, its Constitution and laws do not welcome those that come to our shores to change it to emulate any other country on this planet.  If you want Sharia law, go to a country where that law reigns.  If you want Communism, go to N. Korea, Russia or other Communist countries.   Dictatorships abound for those that prefer a single ruler.  If that’s the government you want; go, and the sooner the better.

As the saying goes: AMERICA, LOVE IT OR LEAVE IT!
