Hillary Is RIGHT About the ‘Clash of Civilizations’ — But She’s Still WRONG On THIS

“It helps to create this clash of civilizations”, so said Madame Secretary. The real one. Not the prime-time infomercial for Hillary’s campaign. A clash she said, helped ISIS. It made it easier for them to recruit future terrorists.

And all this time we thought climate change was what drove otherwise ordinary folks to terrorism.

Hillary’s remarks gave the media a way to help her defend her unwillingness to say “radical Islam”. They were a subtle way of blaming America for the ISIS problem, too.

Before we go any further, let’s give her some credit. For once she said something truthful at least as far as her own views go.

After years of listening to her utter some of the most inane nonsense ever – she says she was named for Sir Edmund Hillary, she tried to join NASA to be an astronaut, the Marine Corps wouldn’t let her enlist, she don’t feel no ways tired she’s traveled to far to get where she’s going, email server? what email server? Oh, that server, running for cover while under sniper fire, asking the NFL for advice about her concussion, at this point what difference does it make – it was nice for once to hear her explain how she actually felt about an important issue. It was Hillary unplugged.

She probably didn’t realize it when she said it, but in eight words she delivered a truly disturbing tidbit of information. “Civilizations”. Wait a minute. “Civilizations” as in, the plural? ISIS qualifies as a “civilization”?

Forget for a moment the occasional media items from left-leaning sources discussing positive attributes of the Islamic State – it’s food inspectors, punishment of tobacco users, ability to provide social services, an economy of sorts, the minorities left alone as long as they pay-off those that would inflict genocide upon them, and so on. Even as heads were being lopped off, intrepid journalists were exploring the softer side of the terror state’s merry little seventh century utopia.

Who were we to judge?

Then, remember how often the left talks about leveling playing fields and how readily they look for moral equivalencies as part of their continuous effort to put western culture in its place. Secretary of Personality John Kerry for example said he could see “even a legitimate in terms of…not a legitimacy but a rationale” behind the Charlie Hebdo attacks in Paris. He actually said he could see a reason terrorists murdered people.

There’s more than political correctness gone wild behind the left’s refusal to place blame for terrorism squarely on radical Islam.

The way they see it, Islamic culture is equivalent to western culture. They don’t differentiate among the diverse sub-cultures present within the Islamic world – which is surprisingly ignorant considering how obsessed the left is with multicultural diversity. Instead, they paint Islam with the broadest brush they can find. They see no difference between the radical Islam of ISIS, and the more benign Islam found in places like Kuala Lumpur. And western culture is in no position to question any of it.

Well before the San Bernardino attack of 12/2 Obama equated other terrorist attacks with the sins of the west. He lectured, “…terrible deeds…committed in the name of Christ. Humanity has been grappling with these questions throughout human history. And lest we get on our high horse and think this is unique to some other place, remember that during the Crusades and the Inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ. In our home country, slavery and Jim Crow all too often were justified in the name of Christ”.

In other words, look at all the bad things that have happened within western culture. With baggage like that, how dare we criticize a little bit of terrorism here and there.

Deep down, Hillary Clinton and all the devoted leftists that can’t wait to vote for her in Nov 2016, view ISIS as just another culture – different but not unequal – in a multicultural world. No wonder we’re constantly berated about anti-Muslim backlashes when there are none. No wonder at every juncture, we’re reminded of how wonderfully Islam has informed human development around the globe. If there is an ISIS bombing, ISIS shooting, or an ISIS video clip of a torturous execution released today, tomorrow’s media coverage will lavish praise upon Islam while reminding us to be tolerant and non-judgmental of those we don’t understand.

“…this clash of civilizations” simply shows the world how “those” Americans still fear strange, exotic cultures when they should be including them in our broader global village. “Those” Americans. You know the ones. The ones that refuse to understand all of the other villagers.

So what’s a young Muslim supposed to do? What choice does he or she have but to seek out ISIS and then commit acts of terror? Less than a week after 12/2, this was how Hillary Clinton found a rationale behind the threat posed by radical Islam. It’s enough to make you hope she’ll start playing fast and loose with the truth again, while dropping more nonsense along the way.

ISIS, a civilization?
