‘MY HEAD HURTS’: Dad Listens To Daughter’s Last Words After Being Shot in Obama’s Gun Free Chicago

A father unwittingly listened to his 25-year-daughter die after she was hit by a stray bullet while the pair talked on the phone.
Aaren O’Connor, who worked for toy company Tomy, was sitting in her car outside her Chicago apartment on Friday night speaking to dad David when she was shot.
During the conversation she started repeatedly saying ‘my head hurts’ and quickly became incoherent, but neither of them knew what was wrong.
At that point she hadn’t realized she had been shot in the head, and neither did her father.
He had pleaded her not to move to Chicago when she left San Diego a year earlier, fearing something might happen in the city that has seen a huge spike in gun violence.
A short time after she finished speaking to her father she was found unresponsive in her car by her roommate.
She was taken to hospital but could not be saved and passed away on Sunday.
Her death is one of at least 17 homicides in the first eight days of February in the city. It’s on pace to triple the number of murders in the same month last year.
Mr O’Connor tearfully told CBS 2 Aaren had moved to the city from San Diego for a new job and her boyfriend.
