It looks like Romney’s plan to try to sway voters to turn against Donald Trump has immensely backfired on him. Doesn’t he realize that attacks on Trump only fuel the fire for his supporters? Here’s how Trump responded:
Donald Trump Thursday called “choke artist” Mitt Romney “a failed candidate” who “let us down” by losing the 2012 election.
Trump was responding to a speech in which Romney, the GOP’s 2012 presidential candidate, savaged Trump’s policies, personality and overall fitness to be the Republican Party’s nominee for president.
“Think of Donald Trump’s personal qualities, the bullying, the greed, the showing off, the misogyny, the absurd third-grade theatrics,” Romney said. “We have long referred to him as ‘The Donald.’ He is the only person in America to whom we have added an article before his name. It wasn’t because he had attributes we admired.”
Trump fired back while campaigning in Maine.
“I heard Mitt Romney made a fairly long speech,” he said. “I’ll just address it quickly because it’s irrelevant.”

Sarah Palin also went after Romney for his comments about Trump today, and actually THANKED him. Check it out via Facebook…
Thank You, Mitt
Trump’s favorables just rose again, as did the veil you willingly wore while being used by the corrupt political establishment who can’t afford to lose their power in liberal D.C. Your speech was so silly and contradictory it confirmed the reasons Trump received tens of thousands more votes than you did in your own home state that you governed. Silly man. Could the establishment really not find anyone credible in their holier-than-thou movement to spew the deception you regurgitated today on tv?
Independent, commonsense conservative patriots: now it’s our time to ramp it up, to prove even more adamantly that our movement in this time for choosing is wisely chosen by those who know what’s at stake for America. The political establishment’s desperation is nailing its coffin – obviously a good thing – but we mustn’t let the Alinsky tactics used to destroy our We the People movement go unanswered. His shoulders are broad, but Donald Trump must not carry this on his own shoulders. Thankfully, Mitt’s anti-Republican Platform speech just strengthened our own. Americans’ shoulders just got bigger and broader. Way to go, Mitt.
