HERE’S a Start to Electing a Congress that Will Actually Perform Its Duties

With the exception of a few brave souls in the Senate and the House, there is an elitist, self-serving bunch in Washington, DC that doesn’t give a hoot about those that elected them…the American people. This occurs on both sides of the aisle. They are not working hard for our benefit, but they are working VERY hard to get themselves re-elected so they can continue to enjoy all the perks they’ve given themselves, and do not deserve. They exempt themselves from laws that they pass, and this is ludicrous. They were not sent to Washington to develop into a group of prima donnas, and that’s what has happened. After listening to some of our politicians one does wonder how some of them manage to get elected. Could it be that the electorate votes for those that promise them a bunch of freebies, or for those that are considered to be “cool”? Cool is not what we need in ANY branch of this government. We need people who are in Washington DC to represent us and look out for our interests. We also need to send those to Washington that we trust. Right now, there is a tremendous lack of trust in every branch of government, and it is well-earned.

I am afraid that many of the Senate and House members have an anatomical problem. No guts, no spine and a lack of testicular fortitude. They are allowing this president to make up his own laws, decide which laws he will follow and which ones he will not. He consistently shreds the Constitution, and nobody stands up to him. Why haven’t impeachment proceedings begun? Why are they allowing a dictatorship to be born? Will America wake up before it’s too late?

We definitely need term limits because many in Congress have become permanent fixtures and have allowed themselves to become accustomed to “the good life”. They have forgotten why they were sent there in the first place, and if those we elected were really doing their job this country would not be in the mess that it’s in right now. Think Obamacare, 19 trillion dollar debt, EPA regulations and taxes discouraging businesses, open borders, influx of illegals and “refugees” from the Middle East by the President, a dysfunctional Veterans Administration, a failing economy, and an unprecedented disregard for the United States Constitution by the Executive branch.

Our Founding Fathers set up three branches of government (Executive, Legislative and Judicial), in order to assure a system of checks and balances. However, the greedy, self-serving elitists have relinquished their responsibility and allowed the Executive branch to run wild, disregarding laws they don’t like, and writing numerous executive orders of which many are unlawful. This is a Republican Congress who were elected to right the wrongs of the Obama administration and they have failed. The House of Representatives has the power of the purse, so why didn’t they use it to stop this President’s harmful overreach and absurd projects? Or, were they more interested in self-preservation of the job rather than doing the job?

Let’s get some fresh blood to Congress with Senators and Representatives that will look out for the interest and welfare of the American public, and not be afraid to challenge the Executive branch. It cannot continue as it is, because if it does this great country will be reduced to a third-world status.

Share if you agree: time for some new blood in the U.S. Congress.
