Powell didn’t think his private ‘digs’ at both candidates would ever go public. Now they have, and Trump has responded. Do you think Trump went too far? Not far enough?
‘I was never a fan of Colin Powell after his weak understanding of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq = disaster. We can do much better!’ wrote Trump on Twitter late Wednesday night about the retired four-star general.
Trump has never served in the armed forces.In his emails Powell referred to Trump as ‘racist,’ a national disgrace’ and an ‘international pariah,’ among other things.
Trump’s running mate Mike Pence was also asked about Powell’s comments on Fox & Friends Thursday morning and said: ‘I’m sure that Colin Powell’s embarrassed about the things he said about both candidates.’
Pence went on to say: ‘It’s unfortunate, but I have a lot of respect for Colin Powell. I disagree with him, but he’s entitled to his opinion about Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.’

And yet he’s such a ‘good friend’ to Hillary that he’ll say absolutely unprintable things about both her and Bill.
If he’s so convinced the ‘birther’ issue is racist, he might want to call out ‘Racist Hillary’ for starting it.
Powell was once considered by many Americans to be a great man. Somewhere along the line, he’s settled into the role of political flunkie.
It’s sad, really.
