LIBERAL LIES: Democrats Deceiving Constituents On Immigration Issues

by Les Weaver

A Grammar quote from my copy of Roget’s Thesaurus. Liar: prevaricator, equivocator, falsifier, fibber, deceiver. See deception, falsehood.

But to this I add the synonym “political double-speak”. Herein I will give just one example of why “double- speak” deceives and therefore is a lie. My example is from a letter from my congressman, Peter DeFazio, (D, OR 4th). However, he is not alone for I receive equivalents from my two Senators, Wyden and Merkley and in addition, listen to equivalent and even greater lies daily on the news and on the CSPAN channels.

Before I continue, I divulge that my wife is a naturalized citizen that entered through the “front door” and abided by all the rules including not being a burden to the government, passing all health and criminal checks and totally assimilating into “the American way”.

Mr. DeFazio has been in congress for over 3 decades and continues. He has become a master in the art of “double-speak”, (aka lying). Of course he may attempt escape from the label by blaming it on staff but that then makes it clear that he is then “not-responsible” and simultaneously “irresponsible”. These are all to be expected when anyone is in congress too long.

I have written several letters to my two Senators and Mr. DeFazio about the immigration problems; Operation Paperclip (See ClashDaily 09/03/16). This program existed for years for the purpose of allowing thousands of approved persons that had entered the USA illegally to cross the border to immediately return legally under existing law, (no changes required). I have also written to Mr. DeFazio, both Senators and even local politicians about the Immigration Act of 1924, (look it up). In addition, I have written about Presidents Harry Truman (D) and Dwight Eisenhower (R) and their immigration problems and solutions. Each and all fall on deaf ears at the congressional level. There are laws in place but the NIH, (Not Invented Here) syndrome cause these legislative geniuses to ignore all on the books and thereby stall moving forward. In addition, if they’d solve a problem, what would they have to bi*ch about?

In response to my letters, Mr. DeFazio, (or his staffers?) finally responded. I have attached the entire text for those on my direct email list but will reference several highlights. At first quick scan, I thought that

Mr. DeFazio and I were in agreement as he states in his second paragraph:
We agree that the federal government needs to act to fix our broken immigration system. I believe Congress and the President need to step up to the plate and pass legislation to effectively control immigration and secure our borders. Rest assured, I will continue to fight to ensure this happens.

But then I got to his seventh paragraph:

I am also a proponent of solutions to prevent illegal immigration. We must first take away the financial incentives that cause illegal immigrants to cross our border. Second I have advocated for stronger border security. Finally, I have opposed across-the-board amnesty programs like the one signed into law by President Reagan in 1986.

BIG OOPS!! Right here I became angry. Apparently Mr. DeFazio takes me, (and you) as (to put it in Democratic terms) “stupid”. Look up the Amnesty Act of 1986. Also look up the verbal agreement between Regan and Democrats subsequent to Regan’s approval. (That part of the agreement never fulfilled by the Democrats). I point out that Regan signed a “Law”. Personally, I disagree with it but it was a law that made its way through congress as specified in the Constitution. It was passed and became “law”.

Here Mr. DeFazio carefully avoids Obama’s “Amnesty” actions that in many cases were accomplished by Executive Order, not congressionally submitted law. In other cases, through his cabinet, Obama ordered the Justice Department, ICE and Border Patrol to ignore laws.

I question Mr. DeFazio’s oversight as either “double-speak” and “deception” but in any case, a pure LIE by intent.

There is much in Mr. DeFazio’s 12 paragraphs, 927 word composition that I wish I could believe. But not one of those claims has he energetically pushed, instead walking the line laid out by his party leader, Pelosi. But the deception he and his peers have mastered as an art and science results in the old phrase; we know when he’s lying because…… This is only one example of where this Congressperson deceives (lies). I have reference to a multitude of “double-speaks” that should raise a flag of warning to his constituents.

To my peers, I suggest and recommend that you just key in your congressperson, select a “neutral” site and take the time for even a brief scan of their history. I predict that like me, you will find that the most polished liars on the planet have their primary offices on Crapitol Hill in the District of Corruption.

To you Mr. DeFazio, Mr. Wyden and Mr. Merkley; I am an un-American deplorable. In fact, I am only one of the millions of American citizens that are no longer blind to your lies and uselessness!
