After so much hype from designers who would or would not dress Melania? We have a winner. (And one loser)
Ralph Lauren is the latest frontrunner in the race to design Melania Trump’s inauguration outfit, Women’s Wear Daily reported Tuesday.
The American designer is believed to be creating a gown and an ensemble for the future first lady, according to the magazine. Melania previously wore a $4,000 white Ralph Lauren pantsuit on Election Night. —DailyMail
What is worn at the inauguration is a big deal in the fashion world. If you need proof, you don’t have to look very far:
Almost 37.8 million viewers watched Barack Obama’s inauguration in 2009. Isabel Toledo, the designer of Michelle Obama’s yellow dress and coat, became known worldwide overnight after 25 years of non-mainstream work.–DailyMail
As for those designers who flat out ‘refused’ to Dress Melania? (Looking at YOU, Tom Ford)
— Fox News (@FoxNews) January 18, 2017
Yeah, well. Nobody ever asked them to. In fact, the Trumps aren’t really fans.
Tom Ford was able to ‘virtue-signal’ to his Liberal friends well enough. But…

…In business when you take sides on something divisive like that, you should remember than you ALSO alienate half of your potential customers.
Is that really good for business?
