Does Clooney seem a little jealous of Trump’s success?
He’s one of Hollywood’s favorite champagne Socialists. And here are his recent remarks at an awards show in Paris:
‘As we stand here today the world is going through some pretty momentous changes, not all for the best, ‘Clooney said. ‘As citizens of the world we’re going to have to work harder and harder not to let hate win.
‘Love trumps hate, courage trumps fear and always right trumps wrongs.’
French actor Jean Dujardin, who was onstage with Clooney in order to translate his speech for the French audience, added his own dig: ‘Donald Trump is dangerous for the world.’
Clooney and Dujardin previously starred alongside each another in the 2014 movie The Monuments Men.
This is the latest example of Clooney speaking out against Trump.
In a February 22 interview with The Daily Beast, Clooney called Trump a ‘Hollywood elitist’ due to his numerous TV and film credits.
‘Donald Trump has 22 acting credits in television… He collects $120,000 a year in his Screen Actors Guild pension fund. Uhh? He is a Hollywood elitist,’ he said.
But at least Trump was relatively successful in the industry, he said, unlike his chief strategist, Steve Bannon, who Clooney called a ‘failed film writer and director’.
…Clooney used the red carpet to speak up for Paris as he headed into the awards ceremony.
‘Yes, no one wants to go to Paris anymore because it’s horrible here, apparently,’ he said as he entered the theater. ‘We have some things to work on in the United States,’ he said, without ever naming Trump.

First off, ‘citizen of the world’, as an idea is — emphatically and categorically — BULLCRAP. It’s sad that as an adult he doesn’t already know this.
Clooney keeps doing political PSAs that inspire precisely NOBODY to act on them. He’s ENDLESSLY backing Socialist causes because HE is economically sheltered from their negative consequences.
(And didn’t the aristocrats in Revolutionary France and Russia think the same thing?)
For all his efforts, the PEOPLE aren’t buying what he’s selling. They REJECTED his precious Hillary and kicked his whole PARTY to the curb. Wholesale.
Isn’t Trump the embodiment of what Clooney WISHES he were?
— Successful not ONLY in Hollywood (which Trump has been as well).
–Successful in business (Clooney couldn’t even hold a CANDLE to Trump there).
— Successful in POLITICS, too?
Clooney tried to get political power by proxy… installing his favorites into power by throwing money at them.
Trump jumped right into the fray himself and bare-knuckled his way to the top of the dogpile in the Republican Party. And THEN, he stood tall over the combined efforts of the Democrats, the Media (sorry for that redundancy), and BIG Hollywood money. (Sorry for that one, too.)
Clooney tries to sound like he’s scolding Trump from some invented place of moral superiority. (Good luck with that, George.)
But in reality, he just sounds like that bitter girl who wasn’t invited to the prom.
Hey George. You lost. Deal with it.
