LIES AND MORE LIES: The Relentless Campaign To Discredit President Trump

There’s a quote that’s attributed quite often to Adolph Hitler regarding the nature of lying: “Make the lie big, make it simple, keep saying it, and eventually they will believe it.”.

While I couldn’t find the exact source for this, I have read about it in several histories of Nazism and the Third Reich. I tend to believe it’s accurate because of this quote regarding “the big lie” that is found in chapter 10 of Hitler’s Mein Kampf: “…in the big lie, there is always a certain force of credibility.”

Anyone who has spent any time reading mid-twentieth century European history, especially the years leading right up to WWII, would realize that Hitler’s ability to lie would have made the Devil himself proud. (see John 8:44)

Lying by the defeated left has become so pervasive it’s almost easy to ignore a lot of it. The term “fake news” is just another word for “lie”, but in the age of PC nonsense, we can’t hurt anyone’s feelings and actually call it a “lie”, can we?

We’re also so used to politicians not being truthful, we tend to just ignore it when they try to spin it off as “I misspoke”, “I was misinformed”, or “the facts were misrepresented…”. And honestly, both sides do it.

But…and here’s another one of those really big BUTS….there has been nothing like we’ve seen immediately after the election and on into this year. Every statement by President Trump is immediately distorted. What has been called a “Moslem ban” was not. The initial executive order called for keeping immigrants out for 120 days only, with a specific ban of immigrants from seven Islamic countries for three months. This was not an attempt to keep all Moslems out for all time, but you wouldn’t know that from the hysteria that resulted.

Another lie by the left and the media (pardon the redundancy) is that the stock market plunged after Trump was elected. Guess what, Skippy, the Dow hit 20,000 for the first time on Jan. 25, 2017. (Today, Feb. 23rd, as I write this the DOW is over 20K, S&P is up over 2K, while the Nasdaq is down to just under 6K. Of course by the time this is posted these numbers will change, but it’s not a do-over of 1929 by any stretch of the imagination.) Yeah, missed the financial crash, didn’t we?

Another example that’s harder to nail down is where Trump’s approval rating actually is. If you’ve paid any attention to the news, you’d have to be asleep not to pick up on the fact that Trump’s poll rating on any given day depends on two things: a) Who is being polled and in what numbers (i.e. are there more Dems than Republicans? How many independents are polled?); and b) Who is doing the polling? Any poll from sources such as CNN, Washington Post and even Yahoo, will not have favorable numbers for the Trump. While the current Gallup poll shows his approval in the 40% range, once again, who was polled?

The left is apparently so rattled by the notion of President Trump, that some of them are going from a delusional state to one of pure fantasy, worthy of the best fan fiction anywhere.

I wish I was making this up, but I’m not. There is a site called HillaryBeatTrum.org (News from the Real America, Where The Majority Rules) that is creating a separate reality and safe space for all the wounded snowflakes.

In a Daily Caller article by Peter Hasson, this site is described as “a satirical news site devoted to covering stories from an alternative universe where Hillary won last November’s election.” Yup. ultimate fan fiction if ever there was.

I can just bet, practically even prophesize, that there will be people out there not capable of critical thinking who are going to believe this to be real. Just wait…it’ll happen.

I have to say that for myself, and probably most conservatives, Obama never felt like “our president” either. But, we didn’t riot, shut down highways, hold huge demonstrations, leave work or create alternative realities. We got busy, paid attention, and well…. you know what happened in 2016.

Scripture is nothing but blunt about lying. Psalm 52:1-4: “Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? The goodness of God endureth continually. They tongue deviseth mischiefs, like a sharp razor, working deceitfully. Thou lovest evil more than good and lying rather than to speak righteousness. Thou lovest all devouring words, thou deceitful tongue.”

Nahum 3:1: “Woe to the bloody city! It is all full of lies and robbery…”

Proverbs 14:5: “A faithful witness will not lie, but a false witness will utter lies.”

…and for the sake of brevity, just one more (my personal favorite):

Proverbs 6:16-19: v.16 – ‚ÄúThese six things doth the Lord hate; yea, seven are an abomination to him; v 17 – A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, v.18 – A heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that are swift to running to mischief, v.19 – A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.”

If you really want to go into further detail, get a comprehensive concordance and run the scriptures for “lie, lying, liar”. There are hundreds throughout the Bible.

This is what we’re up against. But the Father we serve will “guide you into all truth”. (Jn. 6:13) With this knowledge, the ability to know when we’re being lied to, and a lot of prayer, we’re going to get this country back on track. We all have a stake in this.
