Brady’s Teammates were expecting to MAKE a statement… it backfired.
You’d think the way fans turned on Kaepernick for his political statements would have made them think twice before taking a stand like this one.
Obviously not.
Riding the wave of Anti-Trump hysteria, several Patriots are not attending the White House visit. It’s not only explicitly political for its reasons, it’s an explicitly political MESSAGE to the public.
Brady posted something that ALL sports fans (and players!) need to keep in mind.
Sports are that safe place where the ‘enemy’ isn’t the guy who does (or doesn’t) have a certain religious view, or political persuasion. It’s not the guy with the right income bracket or skin color.
It’s about coming together, cheering for the crest on the front of the Jersey, where the only real enemy is the visiting team.
Can we PLEASE stop politicizing Every Freaking Aspect Or Our Lives… Even Our Recreation?
Seriously! Some of us just want to kick back, hang with some buds, have a few beers and enjoy the game.
If we could stop being butt-hurt little pussies and STOP making political pronouncements left, right and center … that would be great.
