Leftists are celebrating the toppling of Conservative juggernaut Bill O’Reilly.
What no other station could do, he and his own station did themselves. He’s been head-and-shoulders above his competition in the lucrative ratings wars for around 20 years now.
If O’Reilly really has done the things of which he’s being accused, then this is essentially self-inflicted.
But there are other relevant ‘factors’.
The fact that this played out right after Trump started his war against fake media, is worth noticing. The ONLY network that wasn’t carrying water for Hillary has had two people shamed into leaving. And a campaign has been launched on a third — Sean Hannity.
If it were just about advertising revenue? That can be worked around. They ARE a news agency, after all.
How hard would it be to look into any leftist agitator group who may be sending out mass emails telling followers in the #Resistance to contact advertisers on certain shows and threaten to boycott their products if they don’t pull the ads.
Once they saw that it isn’t irate customers, but an orchestrated political movement, it shouldn’t be hard to get advertisers to dismiss the problem.
Unless they WANTED him gone.
The younger Murdochs aren’t as fond of Fos New’s Conservative slant as Rupert is. You can see it hinted at in his answer:
