‘The Big Lie’ Is Still A Concept That Threatens Truth Today
Everyday we are bombarded with stories about how the political right in the world has its roots in Nazi Germany and Italy’s Fascist government’s from the 1930-40’s.
Dinesh D’Souza’s most recent book: The Big Lie – Exposing The Nazi Roots of the American Left explains in detail the simple propaganda concept as explained by Adolph Hitler in his 1925 book Mein Kampf: if you’re going to lie, make it so colossal that no one could believe that anyone could so distort the truth.
As I read D’Souza’s newest book, I compared what I have seen in my world travels as a professional pilot to the events on the ground. One thing I’m certain of is that the technique of lying is widely used by the left and despots throughout the world. In Afghanistan it was that the New Crusader’s must be repelled, in sub-Sahara Africa, it’s that the white man is stealing from the indigenous population, and in Europe and America, it’s that Trump and his followers must be stopped, because he and they are, well you know; “NAZIs”!
Most of my columns are about world events, or news that the mainstream media has overlooked yet is actually a very big developing story or trend (yes, it’s bias by omission). This is the first time I’ve done the equivalent of a book report. But let me give you just a taste of D’Souza’s book with an exclusive excerpt from his web site:
The big lie is now back, and this time it is about the role of fascism and Nazism in American politics. The political Left—backed by the mainstream of the Democratic Party—insists that Donald Trump is an American version of Hitler or Mussolini. The GOP, they say, is the new incarnation of the Nazi Party. These charges become the basis and rationalization for seeking to destroy Trump and his allies by any means necessary. The “fascism card” is also used to intimidate conservatives and Republicans into renouncing Trump for fear themselves of being branded and smeared. Nazism, after all, is the ultimate form of hate, and association with it, the ultimate hate crime.
In this book, I turn the tables on the Democratic Left and show that they—not Trump—are the real fascists. They are the ones who use Nazi bullying and intimidation tactics and subscribe to a full-blown fascist ideology. The charges that they make against Trump and the GOP are actually applicable to them. The self-styled opponents of hate are the actual practitioners of the politics of hate. Through a process of transference, leftists blame their victims for being and doing what they themselves are and do. In a sick inversion, the real fascists in American politics masquerade as anti-fascists and accuse the real anti-fascists of being fascists.
From 41,000 feet in the air, it’s obvious to me that if you want to really grasp how far the Left has gone to hide its roots, you need to read this book.
