NFL Player Threatens NFL If Players Are Made To Stand For Anthem – Should He Be Fired?

Well, what happens if players ignore the League’s letter saying they need to stand for the anthem?

Will players get benched?

Will the players play anyway?

Will enough players object that a team has to forfeit?

What REALLY happens next?

We don’t actually know, do we? It’s all uncharted territory.

When it comes to how this standoff will play out, we’re in the dark — much like Lebron James was when he tried to weigh in on politics.

Gerald McCoy was interviewed on exactly that question. Here’s his answer:

“I think it’s going to be a negative reaction. I don’t think guys are going to like it,” McCoy said on the podcast. “I think it’s going to be an uproar if that is to happen, because you’re basically taking away a constitutional right to freedom of speech. If guys want to have, I guess you’d call it a peaceful protest, I don’t think it’s right to take that away from guys. — TampaBay

He clarified that although he wasn’t personally going to protest, there are other players on his team that had before and might again. He continues:

Will you ever see Gerald do it at that moment? No, you won’t,” McCoy said to Schefter. “But that doesn’t mean that … I had two teammates that did that in Mike Evans and DeSean Jackson, and that’s their right to do that. If they’re going to do it, they’re going to have the support of their whole team. If you take that away from them, there’s going to be an uproar. It’s just going to happen. It’s like, you had a voice at one point but then you don’t at this point. That’s our right. It’s a constitutional right, and if you take that away, I don’t think people are going to take too kindly to it.

What is an uproar, exactly?

Hard to say, but ewhatever it is, they do NOT seem to be headed back to the status quo we had before Kaepernick threw a wrench in the works.

Look’s like the NFL could have itself a standoff.

Does your grandpa go off on paltry politicians, whether they be Democrats or Republicans? Does he get misty eyed when he talks about God and Country and America’s future? And have you ever heard him scream, ‘Awww … Hell no!’ when Rosie O’Donnell starts yapping on television? If you answered yes to one, or all of the above, then your gramps will love Doug Giles’ latest book, My Grandpa’s A Patriotic Badass.

Don’t be fooled by the title — this ain’t just for Grandpa.
The Snowflake Generation — and the rest of America — needs a good ol’ dose of ‘Grandpa wisdom’.
Especially if that Grandpa is Doug Giles.
You’ll love My Grandpa’s A Patriotic Badass just as much as Grandpa will.

Share if the players are hellbent on killing their golden goose.
