Q. Why are so many pastors ‘uptight’ about heretics and frauds?
A. To protect their congregation from monsters like this.
In Virgina, one Thanksgiving evening went wrong.
‘Three dead and one arrested’ wrong.
Christopher R. Gattis, 58, was found at the Chester home when officers reported to the scene where his wife, Jeanett Gattis, 58, her daughter, Candice Kunze, 30 and the daughter’s boyfriend, Andrew Buthorn, 36, were shot dead.
Startled neighbors heard the gunshots just before midnight.
When officers scoped the scene, they discovered the women’s bodies inside the home and the man’s, in the front yard.
The suspect was a full-time cleric at Grace Lutheran Church on Harrowgate Road, according to his Facebook page.
What did he do there?
Gattis was a youth pastor at Grace Lutheran Church, where he was a ministries coordinator for middle school and high school students.
“Members of Grace Lutheran Church are deeply saddened by the loss of life last night as a result of three individuals being shot in Chester, and this tragedy included members of Grace Lutheran Church,” the church said in a statement.
The killer (58), his wife (58), the daughter (30) and her boyfriend (36) all lived under the same roof. The news reports say nothing about motive or mental illness.
It only tells us that three people are dead, and one is arrested.
Who knows whether the boyfriend Andrew would have had time to react and save one or more of those lives if he’d been armed.
But what we DO know is that he wasn’t, and they’re dead.
It just shows you never know where the threat will come from… until it arrives.
Which is why the badass grandpa in this book — just like many of our readers — ALWAYS carries.
Even at home.
Does your grandpa go off on paltry politicians, whether they be Democrats or Republicans? Does he get misty eyed when he talks about God and Country and America’s future? And have you ever heard him scream, ‘Awww … Hell no!’ when Rosie O’Donnell starts yapping on television? If you answered yes to one, or all of the above, then your gramps will love Doug Giles’ latest book, My Grandpa Is A Patriotic Badass.
Don’t be fooled by the title — this ain’t just for Grandpa.
The Snowflake Generation — and the rest of America — needs a good ol’ dose of ‘Grandpa wisdom’.
Especially if that Grandpa is Doug Giles.
You’ll love My Grandpa Is A Patriotic Badass just as much as Grandpa will.
The men and women in law enforcement that serve and protect us are commendable, but the
response time means that they don’t get there when the bullets are flying.
Are you willing to wait 20 minutes for the police to show up?
It’s an issue that needs to be discussed within our churches and addressed by our church
We need some righteous badassery in the church to protect ourselves, our loved ones, and our
brothers and sisters in Christ from the preventable evil in this world.
We need to Obey Jesus.
Including what he said in Luke 22:36.
He [Jesus] said to them, “But now let the one who has a moneybag take it, and
likewise a knapsack. And let the one who has no sword sell his cloak and buy one.
