This one edit could have meant the difference between an orange pantsuit and an orange jumpsuit. Coincidence?
Remember how Democrats lined up in defense of Hillary saying she had done nothing wrong, that even the investigation had only called her ‘extremely careless’?
You mean the one that had written a memo about its findings even before interviewing Hillary? Even CNN was compelled to run this headline:

Well, now we know some of the before-and-after edits between that memo and the final draft.
Comey initially wrote that the FBI believed that Clinton and her aides were ‘grossly negligent‘ in their handling of classified information, language also contained in the relevant criminal statute.
But the text was edited to say they were simply ‘extremely careless’ in their use of a personal email server, a phrase Comey adopted for his July 5 public announcement that the FBI would not be recommending charges.
Comey’s ultimate statement also omitted language asserting that the ‘sheer volume’ of information classified as secret at the time it was shared made it reasonable to believe that the former secretary of state and her aides were grossly negligent.

And anyone who has seen the Democrat talking heads show up in panels to claim that dear innocent Hillary didn’t actually ‘deliver’ — as in, ‘hand off’ — information the enemy has benefitted from another modification to his text that blurs the lines a little more.
Comey originally called it ‘reasonably likely’ that ‘hostile actors’ had gained access to her server, but later downgraded his assessment to ‘possible’.
Between Comey and the Complicit Media (D), it would be a little easier to dismiss these edits as innocent if they didn’t always — always — wind up in changes (in Comey’s case) or errors (the press) that benefit the Democrats, or hurt the Republicans.
Even what Comey did to ‘hurt’ Hillary politically was still far less serious than releasing a report that would criminalize her — and criminalization IS precisely the implication of gross negligence’. And it’s possible it was just a cynical Cover-your-ass move, too.
We cannot stress the significance of the following statement enough:
Though the FBI had not yet interviewed Clinton, then the Democratic candidate for president, at the time the statement was drafted, FBI officials had already determined that criminal charges were probably not warranted and had begun thinking about how to present that conclusion to the public.

What ordinary citizen — anywhere — would benefit from that kind of ‘leniency’? And yet, even that draft used the damning phrase ‘gross negligence’.
Isn’t Trey Gowdy right to cast doubt on the objectivity of Mueller’s investigation when some of the same people involved in that sketchy mess are involved here, too?
