The baker at the center of the ‘gay wedding cake’ case heard by the Supreme Court is speaking out on what he has endured for the past five years.
It was 2012 when David Mullins and Charlie Craig entered Jack Phillips’s Masterpiece Cakeshop in Lakewood, Colorado and requested a custom wedding cake for the reception celebrating their marriage ceremony held in Massachusetts. Colorado had not legalized gay marriage, so the couple had to be married out of state.
Phillips refused, citing his Christian faith, while still offering to sell them a premade cake or anything else in his shop — even a wedding cake, he just wouldn’t make a custom cake. He has said that he views the custom wedding cakes as art (Hello, people! It’s right there in the name!) and does not want to lend his artistic expression to a ceremony that he views as violating his personal religious beliefs.
Mullins and Craig managed to get a cake for their reception from another bakery but were offended by Phillips and filed a lawsuit with the Colorado Civil Rights Commission. The Commission ordered Phillips to make the cake, and he continued to refuse and that is what has brought it all the way to the Supreme Court.

The SCOTUS to hear 'The Gay Cake' conundrum this week.Anyway, here's my two cents in my new video we just posted. Amirite or ridiculous? Enjoy.

It’s been five years, and Phillips has lost 40 percent of his business and has had to fire half of his employees because of the decrease in revenue.
He’s also been subjected to harassment and threats.
What about Mullins and Craig? What has it cost them?
Well, they still got their cake — just not from Masterpiece Cakeshop.
Watch Jack Phillips on Fox & Friends:
The question on one side is: Do Christians have the right to discriminate based on their religious views?
On the other is a fundamental issue of free speech: Does the government have the right to force you to make art that you don’t believe in?
Obama’s ‘wise Latina’ Sonia Sotomayor said that there are people that call themselves ‘sandwich artists’ and is dismissing the very real issue of free speech.
So much for the ‘wise’ in ‘wise Latina’.
As anyone who has watched Cake Boss, Ace of Cakes, or the million other shows around like that understand that these elaborate cakes are indeed works of art.
The wedding cake costs more than a regular cake because it is the centerpiece and a symbol of the ceremony. It’s like the wedding rings. People pay more for it, and it is displayed with the symbols of the two people getting married.
Here’s the question nobody is asking:
What does ‘Tolerance’ mean?
Does ‘tolerance’ mean that we all have to affirm what the government wants us to affirm?
Or does it mean that we can all have our own beliefs as long as we don’t discriminate against each other?
Isn’t that was what Phillips did?
Remember, Jack Phillips has several cakes that he won’t bake due to his religious convictions — it’s not just gay marriage cakes. He won’t make cakes celebrating Halloween, Divorce, any ‘adult’-theme, or with profanity.
Kristen Waggoner, Phillips attorney said in the above video:
The same law that applies to Jack and forces him to violate his conscience applies to an atheist singer who would have to perform in an Easter religious service or a Catholic filmmaker that would have to promote the Church of Scientology or an oil painter that would have to paint a portrait of Mohammad and violating their convictions.

There’s one thing that increasingly unites men and women these days. We can both agree that Liberals are losing their ever-loving minds. Now there’s a shirt that says just that.
Conveniently available in Both Ladies…
AND Men’s versions.
Either Liberals just don’t get it, or they are sick in the head. Probably both. Think about it: They want to have all of the blessings that come with living in a capitalist society such as modern medicine and technology. But they believe in socialism, which stifles innovation and progress.
They want to be protected by the police and the military, but they attack and criticize the men and women who protect us. They call conservatives “racists,” but it’s their own identity politics that have created race problems in the first place. After all, Democrats were the party of slavery!
They attack hunters, but have no problem wearing leather shoes or owning cars with leather upholstery! And of course, they believe guns kill people. Not the people that pull the trigger.
Well, here’s a shirt that sums it perfectly. Liberalism is a… MENTAL DISORDER.
And the best part? This shirt is made in the USA, printed in the USA, on an American-Made t-shirt press!
