Drumroll please… we’ll FINALLY have a decision on the gay cake issue!
It feels like that was forever ago, doesn’t it?
It was THE big issue. The conflict of the ages. One Cake Baker — Jack Phillips — refused to make a custom cake for a gay wedding. And, just like that, the culture war was turned up to 11!

The gay activists, Democrats, Late-night TV hosts and Journalists (but I repeat myself) called him basically Hitler, ‘destroying’ human rights. It was billed as the Civil Rights Case of a generation.
Depending who you ask, it’s either an LGBT rights issue, or it’s a freedom of association and religious rights issue.
The cake owner was sued, his reputation run through a shredder, and he has taken a huge hit in his overall business.
What was the problem, did the owner hate gays, did he refuse to serve them?
Not at all.
If they wanted something like a sheet cake, cookies or muffins, he’d be happy to serve them.
It’s the custom work that he reserves the right to refuse service for… since he sinks time and effort into his creations, he’s careful only to put his name on things that don’t violate his conscience.
It’s not hard to understand the concept. In fact, Liberals often APPROVE of the concept.
Here is a list of names. Adele, Rolling Stones, Twisted Sister, Steven Tyler, R.E.M., Elton John, Pavarotti, Queen, Harrison.
Guess what they have in common? None of them wanted Trump using their music. Why?
Adele doesn’t want to be involved in any political campaigns. Ditto Queen.
Elton John isn’t even American, and has no wish to be associated with US politics, and said ‘he was nice to me, it’s nothing personal’.
The best example is Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider.
“When Donald started running for office, he asked me, he called me. He says, ‘Can I use the song?’ And he’s a buddy. And I said, ‘Yeah. Go ahead.’ But as the months went on, I heard a litany of his beliefs that I’d never discussed with him,” Dee Snider told CNN. “I finally called him and I said, ‘Man, you’ve gotta stop using the song. People think I’m endorsing you here. I can’t get behind a lot of what you’re saying.’ And that night. He has not used it since.”

The author of a form of artistic expression, unless they sell that right to someone else, retains their autonomy. They cannot be forced to associate either themselves or their work with something they fundamentally do NOT wish to be associated with.
The Left cheers at every ‘snub’ when someone on the right gets a ‘cease and desist’ from a left-leaning musician.
But let it be someone on the right expressing that same right, and they lose their mind.
And as for ‘religious rights’?
The same Left sure didn’t have a problem with ‘conscientious objectors’ using their religious rights, now did they?
The cake maker has been interviewed about what sort of work he is unwilling to do. Ready?
“I’ve always had to operate my cake shop in a manner that honors God. I gladly welcome and serve everyone who comes into my shop, and would sell anyone any pre-made baked goods. I’m closed on Sundays,” he said. “I don’t take orders for cakes with messages or designs commemorating events or ideas in conflict with my beliefs, including messages that are anti-American, celebrate atheism, racism, or indecency.”
He says in the particular case that landed him in court, he told the couple he “would gladly sell them birthday cakes, shower cakes, cookies brownies…but I couldn’t design a cake promoting an event in conflict with my beliefs.”

Here was Jack Phillips outclassing the harpies on The View, and genuinely shocking them with is absolute lack of malice toward any group, even Gays, despite the claims that were outlandish even by their low standards.

They want to be protected by the police and the military, but they attack and criticize the men and women who protect us. They call conservatives “racists,” but it’s their own identity politics that have created race problems in the first place. After all, Democrats were the party of slavery!
They attack hunters, but have no problem wearing leather shoes or owning cars with leather upholstery! And of course, they believe guns kill people. Not the people that pull the trigger.
