Elevator Nightmare: Here’s Why You Should Put Your D@mn Phone Down Around Big Moving Objects
If this doesn’t get you to put your phone down, nothing will.
A woman in China that was paying attention to her phone instead of her surroundings has allegedly lost a portion of her leg when a malfunctioning elevator door closed on it.
Surveillance video inside the elevator shows the woman looking at her phone when she trips as she gets in. The doors close and the elevator starts moving up with her leg trapped by the doors.
She struggled to get her leg free but was unable to do so. As the elevator rapidly moves up, her right leg appears to have been cut off below the knee.
The elevator moves up three floors while the woman lays helplessly on the floor.
The video suggested that her leg was cut off completely below her knee.
It’s confirmed that the incident happened on 21 June, 2017, but only the footage had been released recently.
It’s said the incident took place in Conch Building in Zhongshan West Road of Shanghai.
No further information has been disclosed. It remains unclear if the woman had survived the accident.
