BREAKING! EMS Claims Broward Sheriff’s Office Blocked Them From Entering FL School During Shooting

It seems that you can add even more failures by the Broward Sheriff’s office to the litany of mistakes that they had already made with regard to the Parkland shooter.

Let’s not forget the failures of the FBI and the policy held by the schools in Broward to ‘reduce crime’ by not arresting students.

Reports are coming out that the Emergency Medical Services sent to Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida after a gunman opened fire on students and teachers, were denied entry to treat the wounded by the Sheriff’s office.

Three high-ranking officials ‘close to law enforcement’ spoke to Fox News and said that there was a delay in allowing EMS into the school on February 14.

Two of those sources said some of the EMS teams were told they weren’t allowed to enter the school, and one of those individuals said the command came straight from the Broward Sheriff’s office.

‘What’s going to come out is, in the communications on several circumstances, there was the request to enter,’ an official told Fox.

‘The request was denied.’

Oh, but what about the safety of the EMS?

Multiple sources said that instead of letting EMS enter the school police officers and deputies were bringing victims out to be treated. One of the sources said they wondered if the method was detrimental to victims.

And three officials confirmed the response went against standard EMS training in which teams of highly trained doctors follow police into emergency situations.

‘We’re trained to go in behind the advanced team to engage the shooter. We’re trained to get in behind them with a security contingent of law enforcement,‘ a high-ranking fire official said.

‘It’s my understanding that it didn’t happen right away. There was a delay.’

Lovely. So, like all the other inaction by the Broward Sheriff’s office, this could have cost lives.

To be fair, the EMS teams are supposed to follow police into the emergency situation, and we know that Broward County police didn’t bother to enter the building to engage the shooter.

One seasoned first responder says that the decision to not go in immediately was the wrong one.

‘Everything I was trained on mass casualty events says they did the wrong thing,‘ the responder said.

‘You don’t wait for the scene to be cleared. You go in immediately armed. retrieve the victims. You can’t leave the victims laying there.‘

Our first responders are heroes willing to risk their lives for others. This inaction kept them from doing their job.

The individual said the teams present who were told they could not enter were willing to risk their lives and told the scene commander that.

‘The response every time was, law enforcement did not clear the scene and would not allow medical personnel in,’ the responder said.

There are multiple investigations surrounding the response to the school shooting in Parkland.

Some are being conducted by the Broward Sheriff’s office.  Florida Gov. Rick Scott has launched an investigation into the response of the Broward Sheriff’s office due to the revelations that multiple officers did not enter the building to stop the shooter.

Sheriff Scott Israel has allowed one of his deputies, Scot Peterson, who was the resource officer at the school, to take the fall for the entire office. Sheriff Israel claims that Peterson ‘didn’t have the heart’ to go into the building despite knowing that there was an active shooter inside the building. Peterson has retained an attorney and is fighting the charges of ‘dereliction of duty’ because says that he was following protocol — he believed that the shots were coming from outside the building.

Sheriff Israel appeared on the CNN townhall and pushed Democrat gun-grabbing talking points while he chose not to mention the mountains of failures under his watch.

Even Jake Tapper — that sat there like a lump while the gun control activist students harassed Dana Loesch and called her a murderer — grilled Sheriff Israel for the disgraceful behavior of the Broward County Sheriff’s Department.

Let’s hope that Sheriff Israel loses his job one way or the other. And quickly.
