Clash Poll: Deputies To Patrol Schools With AR-15s – Do You Love It Or What?

***UPDATE: In light of the news that the armed deputy at the school didn’t go inside the school and stop the shooter, and that 3 other deputies of the Broward County Sheriff’s Department also stayed outside hiding behind their cars until a different police force arrived, perhaps it’s not such a great idea for the Broward Sheriff’s department to be the ones holding the AR-15s on school campuses. It’s like not having armed guards there at all.***

You know that this move is going to drive the Left absolutely nuts.

In the wake of the Parkland school shooting, Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel is taking some decisive action.

Isn’t ‘action’ what the students, parents, the Media (D), and all the activists wanted?

Well, yes — but not like this.

The Leftists and the traumatized students that are being used by the Leftists were hoping for restrictions on guns — including the AR-15 that is now going to be used to protect them. There is a constant drone on the left for all those ‘common sense’ gun control laws that are unspecified and wouldn’t have done a damned thing to stop the shooting from occurring.

Sheriff Israel is taking leadership on this issue by allowing deputies to patrol schools with AR-15s to take down potential school shooters.

Good.

It’s nice that he’s doing something now after law enforcement had dropped the ball 39 times with regard to this particular shooter under his watch.

Someone should do something. Especially when it has been really clear that law enforcement had missed a whole lotta ‘red flags’ that could have prevented this mass shooting from occurring.

The Left is using the traumatized kids to push their gun-grabbing agenda.

Sheriff Israel made the announcement that the decision of the armed Deputies was already being implemented on Wednesday.

The Broward County Sheriff held a press conference on Wednesday where he told reporters that trained deputies will now carry AR-15 rifles on campuses, following the deadly school shooting that happened on Thursday in Parkland, Florida.

The decision was implemented on Wednesday morning.

Watch the Sheriff make the announcement:

…Sheriff Israel said his deputies who are qualified and trained will now be carrying rifles on school grounds, and some will be carrying AR-15s.

When the rifle is not actually on a deputy’s person, it will be stored and locked in a police vehicle, and in no other location, he said.

‘We need to be able to defeat any threat that comes on to campus,’ he said.

Beyond the announcement of the armed Deputies in the schools, Sheriff Israel said that it is ‘up to lawmakers’ but made multiple recommendations of what can be done now to decrease the likelihood of mass shootings.

Look at that… some reasonable recommendations that should be discussed further!

…the Sheriff discussed his opinions on other ways to better secure schools during the press conference.

‘It’s a three-pronged approach,’ he said. ‘I think schools as soft targets need to be fortified. We need to look at how many school resources deputies are being employed at each school. I think the cities and I need to look at that.’

‘Certainly every school in the nation should have a school resource deputy, there should be no school that doesn’t have at least one,’ the Sheriff added, when asked to elaborate on the point.

Sheriff Israel made the sensible suggestion of creating escape routes through school design.

He continued: ‘There are things like CPTED, which is Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design.

‘I think we could build schools differently, or even with schools that are already built, look at how environmentally we can build things that could protect an egress, an escape route.

The third prong of Sheriff Israel’s plan discusses restricting access to firearms for those with violent, threatening language and obvious mental illness.

Sheriff Israel is calling for gun control.

Check it out:

‘We also need to talk about sensible gun control. There are certain people in this country who shouldn’t be allowed to ever have a gun.

The Sheriff also said that the Baker Act should be expanded, which is the law that allows law enforcement to take individuals into custody, involuntarily, if they are thought to be an imminent threat to themselves or others.

He referenced how that would change how officers can deal with people who post things on social media that are of a violent or threatening nature.

‘They may not be an immediate threat to themselves or someone else,’ he said, ‘but if they are at threat or their language is threatening, if they talk about “I want to grow up and be a killer,” if they have graphic pictures of blood and gore, and we have through a totality of evidence, a belief that this person needs to be examined by a medical professional, we need to be able to take that person and involuntarily Baker Act them.’

Ok, I see where he’s going there.

I think we can all agree that people that show obvious signs of mental illness — like the Parkland shooter who was deeply disturbed — should never have had access to firearms.

The problem is who gets to determine who is ‘crazy’ and who isn’t. We are currently dealing with the Media (D) and much of academia that are calling the sitting President ‘worse than Hitler’ and anyone that supports his policies racist, bigots. Words are being equated with violence, and to the left, masculinity is ‘toxic’ and needs to be eliminated.

We need to tread carefully here. And that needs to happen with lawmakers.

Good on ya, Sheriff Israel for making the suggestions and throwing that back to lawmakers to discuss in detail.

As for the deputies with AR-15s patroling?

That’s a great step in the right direction that is being implemented right now.

Armed deputies will certainly make someone think twice about committing another senseless act of violence like what happened on Valentine’s Day in Parkland, Florida.

We need more badass solutions like this.

Does your grandpa go off on paltry politicians, whether they be Democrats or Republicans? Does he get misty eyed when he talks about God and Country and America’s future? And have you ever heard him scream, ‘Awww … Hell no!’ when Rosie O’Donnell starts yapping on television? If you answered yes to one, or all of the above, then your gramps will love Doug Giles’ latest book, My Grandpa Is A Patriotic Badass.

Don’t be fooled by the title — this ain’t just for Grandpa.
The Snowflake Generation — and the rest of America — needs a good ol’ dose of ‘Grandpa wisdom’.
Especially if that Grandpa is Doug Giles.
You’ll love My Grandpa Is A Patriotic Badass just as much as Grandpa will.

The men and women in law enforcement that serve and protect us are commendable, but the response time means that they don’t get there when the bullets are flying.

Are you willing to wait 20 minutes for the police to show up?

It’s an issue that needs to be discussed within our churches and addressed by our church leaders.

We need some righteous badassery in the church to protect ourselves, our loved ones, and our brothers and sisters in Christ from the preventable evil in this world.

We need to Obey Jesus.

Including what he said in Luke 22:36.

He [Jesus] said to them, “But now let the one who has a moneybag take it, and likewise a knapsack. And let the one who has no sword sell his cloak and buy one.
