Right Or Ridiculous: The Only Real Solution to the Problem of Senseless Killings

Written by Judy Rice on February 19, 2018

This senseless killing spree in Florida in yet another school has got me completely outraged. My heart is completely broken for the families and friends of these kids that simply went to school like any other day. This is so completely preventable if we would simply start to understand that we do have a Creator.

Our Creator truly wants us to live in peace. He does tell us how to conduct ourselves and how to obtain peace of mind and contentment. This will consequently result in a civilized society where kids don’t get killed in the classroom.

I truly believe that Modern Christianity has so much to do with this problem. We not only need to bring the Bible back into our schools, we need the Bible back in our churches and learn to read and apply the practical teaching accurately! So much incredible nonsense is being taught absolutely everywhere.

How do we ever solve this problem when the main message we hear is to love ourselves! We have become a “it’s all about me” culture. This drives me insane. We teach kids that they need “self-love” above all else. If we’d only understand that “self-love” is implied in the Bible. Did we forget how to read for understanding and comprehension?

Master, which is the greatest commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, thou shalt love they neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”

Matthew 22: 36-40 [emphasis added]

Imagine how different our nation would be if we could just apply those two simple principles. Put others and God before ourselves. We now have blatant disregard for human life everywhere.

Okay… take one… queue the “our thoughts and prayers are with everyone crowd” and yeah… don’t forget to queue the “moment of silence crowd” because that truly helps to prevent the next massacre. Queue the “gun grabbers and the arm the teachers crowd!” Let’s all post on social media all the “wonderful” solutions that can never work! Oh, and don’t forget to send flowers because that will definitely prevent the next incident. Let’s queue the “blamers” who will blame this on anything and everything but the real issue here.

“The human heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” Jeremiah 17:9 Once we can understand this again. We will be on the right path. We need heart transformations. We need to stop being so full of ourselves that we have no regard for anyone else.

Students are admitting that they knew the shooter was an unstable threat, but nobody came forward probably because of the backlash they would receive for “making a judgement or something?” Now seventeen families lost a loved one. How pathetic we’ve become!

We need to stop all this political correctness that keeps people from reporting suspicious behavior. What we report can truly save someone else’s life, but we don’t seem to be interested in too many others, besides ourselves!
