Did Chuck and Nancy overplay their obstructionism?
There’s no way to polish the turd. The numbers in that omnibus spending bill are staggering. Even Trump took time to blast the waste in it.
And conservatives were pissed that the taxpayer was ‘thrown under the omnibus’.
That can be seen by one of the many forms of the blowback it got:
But in the time of the obstruct-at-all-costs #Resist movement, without a 51 vote Senate, the Dems were holding important budget-items hostage.
Or so we were told.
The same people who set a budget that projected WELL into Trump’s first term in office last go around, can’t seem to find it in themselves to agree to terms for more than a couple of months at a time now. They trot out continuing resolution after continuing resolution, with the obvious hope that things will be different after the mid-terms when they can have much more direct control.
And some of what is in there is an absolute sh-tshow.
So it surprised us when Dick Morris pointed out something we didn’t notice before. The fact that they are playing endless games with continuing resolutions instead of giving us a proper budget might have just given Trump a back door to do the one thing they have been desperate to prevent.

And if he’s right, even Ann Coulter might make peace with him again… maybe.
Because it’s a CR, the President has some latitude to move dollars around within an envelope. He can use some of that massive military spending to do the very thing he’s been criticized for ignoring — protecting the national security, by funding the wall.
And, if Dick is right, because it’s a CR, and it would fall within the scope of ‘national security’, the Left couldn’t do a damned thing to stop him.
If you go a little later into the video, you’ll see an issue he brings up that will make McCabe lose sleep at night, too.
So, there is at least SOME good news in the midst of this.
