Isn’t It Time To Make This The DND’s Offical Theme Song?
In keeping with last week’s music inspired column, I’ve been wondering what the Democratic National Committee would select for a theme song if they ever decided to do so. It seems that there is only one obvious choice…The Rolling Stones “Sympathy for The Devil”.
Written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, the song was included on the Stone’s 1968 album “Beggars Banquet”. It’s sung by Jagger in first person as a sort of narrative presented by the Devil himself as a retelling of all the atrocities he’s inspired throughout human history.
I’ve never been a huge Rolling Stones fan, although I have to say that their latest release, the Grammy winning Blue and Lonesome is quite good. They’re one of those bands that have a few things I like, but I’ve never gone out of my way to pay much attention to them or follow their career.
We have a really good “oldies” station in town that plays an extremely eclectic mix of material. “Sympathy…” came on the other day and for some reason, certain lyrics just sort of jumped out at me. I got to thinking how relatable it is to the current policies of the Democrats.
For instance, take the opening lines: “Please allow me to introduce myself/I’m a man of wealth and taste”. The Democrats have always promoted themselves as the party of the common man. Well, certainly not any more. They regard themselves as the “elites”, as “our betters” and are definitely all about “wealth and taste”.
The Democrats have gone from being concerned about America and American values to embracing socialism. The end result that they’re working for is found in these lines of “Sympathy…”
I stuck around St. Petersburg
When I saw it was time for a change
Killed the Czar and his ministers
Anastasia screamed in vain
Only someone with their head so far up their a$$ that they haven’t seen daylight since the Truman administration would miss the true intention of the
#MarchForOurLives movement. You want me to believe that a bunch of today’s teenagers could organize something like this on their own? Take their phones and GPS away and most of them couldn’t find their way home. This entire “movement” is nothing short of an attempt to disarm us deplorables. That would leave just a short step to killing any of us who dared to question or fight back. That’s the end game of socialism as brought to you by the DNC. Think…Venezuela. Better yet, read Solzhenitsyn before his work is banned.
As with the desire to destroy America, there is the overwhelming desire of the Democrats to do away with Christianity. As in the song…
And I was around when Jesus Christ
Had His moment of doubt and pain
Made damn sure that Pilate washed his hands
And sealed his fate
The Democrats apparent hatred of America’s Christian heritage is no longer hidden. In a speech during the Women in The World Summit in NYC on April 23rd, 2015, Hilary Clinton said, in part: “Laws have got to be backed up…with political will…deep seated cultural codes, religious beliefs…have to be changed.”
There’s been some controversy as to whether or not she actually mentioned Christianity in this speech that focused on the availability of abortion for women worldwide. But who uses language like “political will” and then couples that with the desire to change religious beliefs? We all know she certainly wasn’t talking about Islam.
Any chance a Democrat can get to put down America’s Christian heritage will be gladly taken. Best example…look at all the speech codes now found on college and university campuses that prohibit anti-abortion discussion and any religious discussion other than Islam.
Lastly, one of the parts of “Sympathy for The Devil” that could almost be taken right out of current headlines, is this:
Just as every cop is a criminal
And all the sinners saints
As heads is tails
Just call me Lucifer
‘Cause I’m in need of some restraint
Truthfully, though, “restraint” isn’t even a consideration for the Democrats. Read those lines again and let it sink in. The war on law enforcement at all levels, Bill Clinton regarded as an “elder statesman”, illegal criminal aliens presented as “poor, unfortunate souls just wanting a better life”…etc., etc. It’s amazing that a fifty-year-old rock song by a band from England could be so profoundly prophetic.
“Sympathy for The Devil” is perfect for the DNC.
“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” (Eph. 6:12 also see Jn 8:44; I Peter 5:8-9)
Last week, I mentioned that my first solo CD project, SALT, is scheduled for release in May. Along with the incredible musicians I was able to put together for this, John Schlitt of Petra is featured on vocals. I’ll let everyone know as the release date gets closer.
