The ‘Mummy Solution’: The Left’s Continual Failures In Solving The Problem Of Gun Violence

The news, or is it?

It seems to me that the Mueller investigation, as lopsided as it is, may finally be doing something right. According to an FBI report (can they still be trusted?) former President Hussein was very much in favor of strict, one might even say draconian, anti-gun laws. In my not-so-humble opinion, he definitely wanted an unarmed country, and he mentioned a private police force equal to the Army…that would not have been in our best interests, but he never had the best interests of America at heart anyhow. What puzzles me is that we see him arrive on the political scene a virtual nobody and he winds up being the leader of the free world, albeit leading from behind.

One of the things that might have been beneficial, but which he didn’t do, was to keep fugitive names in a national database. His position was that we should open our borders to everyone and give them all the benefits and privileges that citizens of our country have. We all remember the fiasco that was “Fast and Furious”, which put thousands of weapons into the hands of the Mexican cartels and, eventually, was responsible for the murder of Border Patrolman Brian Terry. Acting FBI deputy director David Bowdich said that it was directed by the then-administration to remove HALF A MILLION names of people with outstanding warrants from the database. In effect, those HALF A MILLION were then loose in the country, and no one really knew where they were or what they were doing…including murder.

While a person with an outstanding arrest warrant was considered to be a fugitive by the FBI, the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives used the term for someone who had the warrant and had also crossed state lines. Bowdich testified about the decision during a recent Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on the failed response of the FBI and law enforcement in preventing the Parkland, Florida mass shooting in February which claimed the lives of seventeen people. The once-vaunted Federal Bureau of Investigation has, apparently, become Fink’s Battalion of Idiots, if you consider the “warnings” they had about that school shooter, Nikolas Cruz. If you or I had made the same mistakes that the FBI did in this investigation, we’d be fired on the spot, I believe.

On January 5, 2018, a person close to Nikolas Cruz contacted the FBI’s Public Access Line (PAL) tip-line to report concerns about him. The caller provided information about Cruz’s gun ownership, desire to kill people, erratic behavior, and disturbing social media posts, as well as the potential of him conducting a school shooting. Under established protocols, the information provided by the caller SHOULD have been assessed as a potential threat to life. The information then should have been forwarded to the FBI Miami Field Office, where appropriate investigative steps SHOULD have been taken. You’ll note that the tip was received more than a month before the shooting.

I’ll take up the case of the Broward County Sheriff’s Department in another, later, article…but let it suffice that they did not do “due diligence” in this matter.

You probably didn’t find this being reported widely, so here it is…on Jan. 9th, Lynn Sweet, in the Chicago Sun-Times writes that when Michelle Obama worked in Mayor Daley’s City Hall in the early 1990s, she was “distressed” by how a small group of “white Irish Catholic” families — the Daleys, the Hynes and the Madigans — “locked up” power in Illinois. Mrs. Obama worked in the Daley administration between Sept. 16, 1991, and April 30, 1993, according to City of Chicago personnel records. She was hired by Valerie Jarrett, then Daley’s deputy chief of staff. Mrs. Obama “disapproved of how closely Daley held power, surrounding himself with three or four people who seemed to let few outsiders in — a concern she would echo years later with her own husband…She particularly resented the way power in Illinois was locked up generation after generation by a small group of families, all white Irish Catholic — the Daleys in Chicago, the Hynes and Madigans statewide.” There are SO many things about the former first family that are odd, that it would take volumes to investigate and explain them.

The recent “walkout” by students across America pointed out a few things about them. First, they are incredibly naïve, with few or no clues about how things are run in this country. Second, what information they have about guns is so far-fetched that it’s ludicrous, they use descriptions of weapons that have no basis in fact. To them, the world would be a much better place if NO ONE had any guns…so what does that mean?
It means that other things would be used as weapons to kill or maim other people. What’s that you say…that’s already being done? Of course it is. Knives, axes, bats, poison, vehicles, even hands, have been used to kill people…so what shall we do? Each of us should wrap ourselves like a mummy and not harm anyone, but then we’ll be just like sitting ducks for that oddball who doesn’t conform, eh?

Parting shot: Life, if it’s lived right, is beautiful…but nothing is guaranteed except that you have certain freedoms written into the law under which we live. The outcome of life is not guaranteed, but you have the OPPORTUNITY TO PURSUE the good life.
