Broward Deputies Vote To Can Their Shady Sheriff, Scott Israel

Maybe Scott Israel’s leadership isn’t as ‘amazing’ as he claims it is.

A deputies union got together and put their opinion to a vote. It didn’t go well for Sheriff Israel.

A vote of no-confidence was passed with 85% support by the Deputies Union.

A deputies’ union on Thursday announced that 85 percent of its members who voted — 534 out of 628 — cast ballots expressing “no confidence” in the sheriff’s leadership.

“He fails to listen to the people, he fails to listen to the leadership,” said Jeff Bell, president of the Broward Sheriff’s Office Deputies Association. “Amazing leadership starts from the top, and there is no amazing leadership here. We are a ship out at sea with no power — adrift.”

Although the plan is to present the results of the vote to Gov. Rick Scott and urge him to remove or suspend Israel, the vote is largely symbolic and does not translate into immediate action or consequence for the sheriff.

It’s symbolic, really. Sheriffs, after all, are elected officials. There are only two ways he could be shown the door. One is by losing the next election.

The other is to have a Governor kick him to the curb.

That would be Governor Scott.

Under orders from Gov. Scott, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating how the Sheriff’s Office and other law enforcement agencies handled its response to the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

Scott’s position on Thursday was to wait and see what becomes of that investigation.

“Gov. Scott believes that people must be held accountable for the reported failures in response to the school shooting in Parkland, which is why he immediately called for a full and systematic FDLE investigation into the matter,” said John Tupps, a spokesman for the governor’s office. “Once that investigation is complete, and we have all the facts, the appropriate steps will be taken to hold people accountable.”

The counter-claim is that the union, in its final year of a contract, is just using this as a negotiating tactic.

Either way, his claim that he offered ‘awesome leadership’ even before those bodies at Parkland were interred is coming back to haunt him.

Does your grandpa go off on paltry politicians, whether they be Democrats or Republicans? Does he get misty eyed when he talks about God and Country and America’s future? And have you ever heard him scream, ‘Awww … Hell no!’ when Rosie O’Donnell starts yapping on television? If you answered yes to one, or all of the above, then your gramps will love Doug Giles’ latest book, My Grandpa Is A Patriotic Badass.

Don’t be fooled by the title — this ain’t just for Grandpa.
The Snowflake Generation — and the rest of America — needs a good ol’ dose of ‘Grandpa wisdom’.
Especially if that Grandpa is Doug Giles.
You’ll love My Grandpa Is A Patriotic Badass just as much as Grandpa will.

What makes America so different from other nations? Other nations are built around regimes or systems. But America was built from on ideas. From a blank slate.

Built on ideas that are DANGEROUS to tyrants.

That we have God-Given Rights, like Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Dangerous ideas. Like this one: the people, when threatened, have a God-Given right to stand up in defiance of any government that dares threaten any of those rights.

There’s a men’s version

And a women’s version, too

Because in America, the bros AND the ladies BOTH have a rich history of badass rowdiness.
