On this Dougcast, ClashDaily’s Big Dawg reveals what Pastors need to do to change our crappy culture for Christ. Y’all might need a cup for this one!
Doug’s starting point is Matthew 5:13
‘You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet.’
Teddy Roosevelt said,
‘No man is worth his salt who is not ready at all times to risk his well-being, to risk his body, to risk his life, in a great cause.’
Working to advance God’s Kingdom certainly is a great cause.
Clearly, the God-job has two fronts:
- Reach out to a lost soul and keep it from going to Hell.
- Righteously leaven our current, crappy culture for Christ.
Unfortunately, some pastors are seriously lacking in their ability to do one (or both!) of these.
Never fear, Doug’s got some Biblically-based guidance to assist those that are limping along in their God-ordained duties to shepherd His people.
Listen to Doug’s wit and wisdom:
Doug says that there are 10 Reasons that Pastors don’t take up a leadership position on cultural issues:
- Fear of Man
- They’re not informed on the issues
- ‘Last-Days’ Madness
- 501 (c)(3)
- Paltry Pietism
- Political Correctness
- Bogged down by Minutiae
- ‘Filthy Lucre’
Listen to the podcast for Doug’s prescription for these 10 maladies.

Rules For Radical Christians is not a survival devotional designed to help the young Christian adult limp through life. Rather, it is a road-tested, dominion blueprint that will equip the young adult with leadership skills and sufficient motivation to rise to a place of influence in an overtly non-Christian culture. Rules For Radical Christians gives the reader the keys to become strategically equipped to move into an anti-theistic environment and effectively influence it for the glory of God.
