Tim Allen’s Show, Last Man Standing, Renewed For 7th Season – Libs Ain’t Happy
But don’t call it a comeback, because it isn’t.
It’s just the continuation of the show… but on a new network.
Tim Allen’s sitcom, Last Man Standing, was canned by ABC in May 2016 at the end of its 6th season citing ‘higher production costs’. The show was never a hit with critics but was a steady success with viewers averaging a quite respectable 8.3 million viewers a week. The cancelation of the show was a shock to Allen as well as the fans.
It was a real head-scratcher, and many speculated that the real reason was the conservative views of Tim Allen as well as his on-screen counterpart, Mike Baxter.
Stunned and blindsided by the network I called home for the last six years. #lastmanstanding

ABC vehemently denied that the cancelation was due to politics. The station has since rebooted Roseanne with the lead as a Trump-supporter. After the wildly successful reception, there were calls to bring back Last Man Standing.
Allen teased a possibility of a 7th season on Twitter.
They heard all your voices people!! LMS just might be a reality. Keep it up. Who wants more #LastManStanding ?

The great news is that Fox has renewed the show for a 7th season.
New season this fall! https://t.co/qhSdY48WT2 #LastManStanding https://t.co/REYt6yYXbV

The original cast has signed on Tim Allen, Nancy Travis, Jonathan Adams, Amanda Fuller, Christoph Sanders and Jordan Masterson.
Allen’s statement sent to Fox was ecstatic and hilarious:
“Excited?” asked Allen in a statement sent to Fox News. “Team LMS was in the sixth inning, ahead by four runs, stands were packed and then for no reason, they call off the game. It leaves you sitting in the dugout, holding a bat and puzzled. Now we get the news from Fox that it’s time to get back out on that diamond – hell yes, I’m excited!
“When I heard the offer to create more episodes of ‘Last Man Standing,’ I did a fist pump so hard I threw my back out. It’s the fans! I could not be more grateful for the fans who wrote petitions and kept up the passion and incredible support for the show.
“And a fist pump, ouch, for Dana Walden and Gary Newman at Fox for not only listening to the fans but for making the bold move to bring ‘Last Man Standing’ back. I’m sure audiences will be curious to see what we look like after all these years. Oh, has it only been one year? Well, just goes to show you – a lot can happen in a year.”
Allen said that he was overwhelmed by the support of the fans.
“The support from all the fans to bring back ‘Last Man Standing’ is truly overwhelming to me and so appreciated,” Allen told Fox News exclusively. “I, along with the talented writers, wonderful crew and terrific actors, would definitely entertain the idea of bringing the show back as there is so much gas left in the tank, more to be said, and laughs to be had.”

The news of the show’s signing got at least one big star’s approval on Twitter:

Tim Allen's show "Last Man Standing" has now been picked up by FOX, after ABC dropped it. It would seem that FOX is going to be the only network to survive, because the others are just unwatchable at this point. (Not to mention that people are abandoning cable in droves).

I am very progressive and pretty liberal and I love this show. It’s a TV show people not real life, Tim Allen’s character is conservative but other characters are not, it’s called balance. Find some, we all need more in our lives. #LastManStanding

But the progressive, tolerant, #Resist crowd weren’t so happy:
Fox cancelled Brooklyn Nine-Nine to make room for Tim Allen's conservative comedy Last Man Standing and honestly I hate Trump’s America so much.
— Denizcan S. (@MrFilmkritik) May 11, 2018
Brooklyn Nine-Nine, a funny show with LGBT, POC and Latinx rep, is getting canceled to make room for Tim Allen's Last Man Standing, another show about a white, Trump supporting family.
This sucks. #Brooklyn99
— Denizcan S. (@MrFilmkritik) May 10, 2018
Me reading the news #Brooklyn99 was cancelled today, which is a dumb move. It's been one of the most, of not THE, consistently funny shows with virtually no disappointing episodes. But hey, let's replace a progressive comedy with a Last Man Standing… Seriously… pic.twitter.com/FVrUCYa95f

I swear, if Fox cancels #BrooklynNineNine so they can revive Tim Allen's already-canceled 'Last Man Standing,' I may never watch another Fox show again.

Brooklyn 9-9’s revival is somewhat historic. They were cancelled and then revived by a different network only a DAY after cancellation. That’s INSANE. The “Last Man Standing” show that B99 was replaced with took a YEAR to get a revival.
Thanks @nbc. POC & queer ppl feel heard.

I can't stand the fact that Fox cancelled #Lucifer to produce a revival of Last Man Standing that no one ever asked for. #SaveLucifer

I don't wish failure on #LastManStanding .
I wish devastation.

Awwww! Look at all the sad little children upset that one show isn’t über-progressive! They’re so disappointed that they can’t shove their worldview at us 24/7.
I will bet that none of them watched the show in the first place, and they don’t have to watch it on Fox, either. But there are millions of fans out there that want to see their lives reflected on screen.
Dear little progressives, it doesn’t work out very well if you ignore that big red part of the country in between the two coasts.
Just ask your pal, Hillary.
Suck it up, Buttercups!
Last Man Standing is coming back!
The show will air sometime in the 2018/19 season.
And those of us in ‘Flyover America’ can’t wait!

Rules For Radical Christians is not a survival devotional designed to help the young Christian adult limp through life. Rather, it is a road-tested, dominion blueprint that will equip the young adult with leadership skills and sufficient motivation to rise to a place of influence in an overtly non-Christian culture. Rules For Radical Christians gives the reader the keys to become strategically equipped to move into an anti-theistic environment and effectively influence it for the glory of God.

What makes America so different from other nations? Other nations are built around regimes or systems. But America was built from on ideas. From a blank slate.
Built on ideas that are DANGEROUS to tyrants.
That we have God-Given Rights, like Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Dangerous ideas. Like this one: the people, when threatened, have a God-Given right to stand up in defiance of any government that dares threaten any of those rights.
There’s a men’s version…
And a women’s version, too…
Because in America, the bros AND the ladies BOTH have a rich history of badass rowdiness.
