Clash Poll: Samantha Bee ‘Apologizes’ For Calling Ivanka A ‘C**t’ – Does It Sound Sincere To You?

The alleged humorist addressed the controversy on her show. Do you think she was sincere?

It wasn’t a surprise that Samantha Bee targeted Ivanka for a personal photo that she shared on social media.

The former Daily Show contributor is much like other late-night talk show hosts — anti-Trump and overtly leftist.

Bee called Ivanka a ‘feckless c-nt’ and suggested that she ‘slip into a tight dress’ in order to change President Trump’s evil immigration policy of ‘tearing families apart’ that illegally cross the border.

The President tweeted about the statement and advertisers began to bail, so she issued an apology.

Her show, Full Frontal, has been denied access to a major Conservative conference.

And now she made an on-air apology of sorts. She said that she’s used the word on her show in the past to ‘reclaim’ the c-word.

It looked like the non-pology that Kathy Griffin gave after her ISIS-beheading style video of President Trump. Sincere-ish words but more ‘sorry for the consequences’ not ‘sorry for what I said’. And afterward, Griffin took the apology back.

Bee gave a scripted apology, much like the scripted joke about Ivanka that started the entire thing:

‘I crossed the line. I regret it and I do apologize for it,’ Bee said at the top of her show on Wednesday night.

‘The problem is, a lot of women have heard that word at the worst time in their lives, and don’t want it reclaimed.

‘I don’t want to inflict more pain on them. I want this show to be challenging and to be honest.’

She then joked: ‘I never intended it to hurt anyone except Ted Cruz.’

‘I hate that this distracted from more important issues. I hate that I did something to contribute to the nightmare of 24-hour news cycles that we’re all white-knuckling through,’ said Bee.

‘I should have known that a potty-mouthed insult would be inherently more interesting a to them than juvenile immigration policy.

She then stated: ‘I would do anything to help those kids. I hate that this distracted from them. So, to them I am also sorry.’

Interesting.

She didn’t acknowledge that the immigration policy that she’s still railing against is an Obama-era policy and is just one of many reasons why conservatives are against illegal border crossings.

Her final remarks took clear aim at the Trump administration for enacting this new policy that separates children from their parents if they are caught making an illegal border crossing.

‘I’m really sorry I said that word, but you know what?’ said Bee.

‘Civility is just nice words, maybe we should all worry little bit more about the niceness of our actions.’

Actions speak louder than words, do they?

Then maybe Samantha Bee should direct that statement to Barack Obama who had years in office to fix the situation.

Or maybe tell people to obey our immigration laws and not cross the border illegally in the first place.
