Troy Skinner, 25, flew to Virginia to meet the woman’s teenage daughter after the two chatted online using Discord, a service popular among gamers, the Goochland County Sheriff said.
The 14-year-old girl’s mother shot Skinner when he attempted to break into the family’s home in the Holland Hills community, the sheriff said.
“He was not invited here, he was not expected here, he had been told in the past that the daughter no longer wished to communicate with him,” Goochland Sheriff Jim Agnew said.

Some time ago, the fourteen-year-old cut contact with this creep. But he bought a plane ticket, a bus ticket, some tape and a knife before stopping at her house and putting a brick through her door.
Mom fired two shots. One of them tagged him in the neck.
The daughter was safe, and the goon collapsed in a nearby garden.
Dad told her to grab the gun.
Good advice… especially now that we know what the sick freak’s plans appear to have been.
If the gun grabbers had their way, this might happy ending might have ended very differently indeed.
