Ocasio-Cortez Sounds Like Britney Spears When Explaining How The U.S. Will Pay For Her Socialist Dreams

The new Democrat Darling, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez just proved it — kids say the darnedest things.

Ok, so she’s not a kid, she’s a 28-year old bartender.

But she sounds like a kid. This chick is really something else.

Ocasio-Cortez appeared on the Pod Save America podcast with Jon Lovett, the former speechwriter for both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

The ‘Democratic-Socialist’ star candidate on the Left has been panned by those on the right as well as some of her centrist Democrat colleagues for not having a plan to pay for her social spending. Even when she does sort-of suggest ways of increasing government revenue, through increased taxation, she still falls trillions of dollars short on her budgetary goals.

Watch this exchange with Trevor Noah where she confuses the entire military budget with an increase in funding:

If that were the case, there wouldn’t be a Jon Lovett, a Pod Save America or an Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to give us this load of ignorance.

Jon Lovett asked Cortez the question everyone wants an answer to — how does she plan to finance her multi-trillion dollar socialist dreams? But first — he provides her with an answer.

Here’s Lovett’s ‘question’:

We don’t talk about what defense costs; we’re about to hit a trillion dollars in debt because of the corporate tax cuts; yet when we talk about pre-K, healthcare, college, suddenly it’s unrealistic because of the cost. And it’s not just bad faith Republicans that make that argument; you hear it from Democrats as well. What’s your response to that?

And Cortez responds, ‘Well, I think it’s that same exact thing.

She then rambles on and on without answering the question at all.

It’s that we… you know they say, ‘How are you going to pay for it?’ as though they haven’t used those same ways to pay for unlimited wars, to pay for trillion dollar tax cuts and tax cut extensions. They use these mechanisms to pay for these things all the time.

Sorry, which ways and which mechanisms? Taxation? She doesn’t enumerate them.

Let’s assume that as a Democratic Socialist she means wealth redistribution.

Honey, that’s called ‘stealing’.

Why should the ‘makers’ have their money given to the ‘takers’?

For example, should a plumber that has worked hard to create his business, which now employs 4 people, be taxed at a higher rate due to his success so that some activist can go tuition-free to college to get a ‘Gender Studies’ degree?

Ocasio-Cortez would say, ‘Yes!’ because that’s investing in ‘human capital’.

They only want to know — it just seems like their pockets are empty when we’re talking about education and investing in human capital in the United States: education, healthcare, housing, um, and investing in the middle class. All of a sudden, there’s nothing left. All of a sudden the wealthiest nation in the world, we’re just totally scarce. We have complete scarcity when it comes to the things that are the most important.

Scarcity? What the heck is she talking about?

Maybe she should go visit the dream society of fellow Democratic Socialist, Bernie Sanders — the failing country of Venezuela — to illustrate the concept of scarcity.

For me, I think it belies a lack of moral priority. And it’s unfortunate.

Really, we’re going to bring morality into it?

It’s not immoral to be self-sufficient and not want a great big Nanny State telling you how to live your life.

The role of government isn’t to give you things that you want.

Perhaps she needs to brush up on her reading of the Federalist Papers.

And of course, she says it’s not a ‘left/right thing’ it’s a ‘human’ thing.

I think that — but I also think a lot of these folks, especially those perhaps on the Democratic side, perhaps they don’t even see it, you know? I don’t know. I don’t know if that’s a generous interpretation or not, but I legitimately think that they start kind of buying into conservative talking points. They get dragged into their court all the time. And I think it is because there’s this really myopic, and also, just misunderstanding of politics as this flat 2-dimensional left/right thing. And so they always feel like, “Okay, the Right says this thing. We have to respond to it.” And that’s why they’re winning. That’s why they’ve won for the last ten years, because they’ve dragged us onto their court. And we refuse to have our own strong message to force them to play defense on.

So, in that word salad, did she mention once how she’s going to pay for free college tuition for everyone? Tuition at U.S. universities and colleges runs $70 billion per year.

Did she mention the cost of Medicare for all? It’s been estimated that it would cost Americans an additional 32.6 trillion dollars over 10 years.

How about housing as a ‘human right’? How much could that possibly cost?

Nope, I didn’t hear any mention of how those would be paid for.

It’s not a matter of ‘reprioritizing’.

She’d have to gut funding and what would she cut exactly? She’s the advocate for big, bloated government.

Watch the unbelievable interview:

Yes, ladies and gents, this is what the Democrats are excited about.

All I can say is — bring on the midterms and then 2020!

Let this girl keep talking and be the face of the Democratic Party, and we’ll do just fine.
