Dear CNN: Trump Lends Air Force Two To Bring McCain’s Casket To Washington — Is That News?

President Donald Trump was told to stay away from the funeral, but he did do something pretty special to honor the late John McCain.

The entire McCain memorial and funeral has been chock-a-block full of anti-Trump rhetoric. From the flag ‘scandal’ to the eulogies, Trump Derangement Syndrome was on full display.

That’s just oh, so classy.

In the midst of the 5-day anti-Trump hatefest, the Media (D) isn’t covering this really big story.

Despite the snub from the McCain clan, the President permitted the use of Air Force 2, which is reserved for the Vice President or the First Lady’s travel, to be used to bring the late Senator’s body to Washington. He also approved military honors for McCain.

The late Arizona senator’s casket was loaded onto one of the jets known as Air Force 2 — which is often designated for the VP or First Lady’s travel. As you know, 45 will not be attending McCain’s service in D.C. … reportedly because McCain wanted it that way.

Still, Trump announced earlier this week he had greenlit military transport for McCain, saying, “At the request of the McCain family, I have also authorized military transportation of Senator McCain’s remains from Arizona to Washington, D.C., military pallbearers and band support, and a horse and caisson transport during the service at the United States Naval Academy.”

Like him or hate him, John McCain served in our military and was a POW in Vietnam. He then served his country as a Senator. I certainly didn’t agree with him on much of anything, but his funeral is the time to remember the man and not the political antics. It’s amazing that so many that were close to John McCain have decided to make him a post-humous poster boy for the anti-Trump ‘Resistance’ by forever contrasting his political views to that of President Trump. Yet they never mention that those same views had failed to win McCain the Presidency.
