This Meme PERFECTLY Describes The ‘Social Media(D)’ Giants

Just ask them: they’re not heavy-handed, biased, and silencing anyone who dares to disagree with them. Of course not. That would be ‘Orwellian’.

Pay no attention to the documented evidence of those same big Tech Companies literally conspiring with the political Left to ‘help’ them win elections is not proof of bias.

Social media sites aren’t censoring anybody over their politics. ‘Honest.’ Except that they are.

Clearly.

The laws that protect big tech firms from lawsuits over their content REQUIRE them to ‘officially’ say that. Otherwise, Facebook, Google, Twitter and all the rest could be held accountable for the content on their sites and would be exposed to lawsuits over that content.

That’s a road they do NOT want to go down.

This sums up the issue beautifully:

Forget the ringing endorsements Twitter execs had over that political ‘Civil War’ post that laid out the plan to force political change on the rest of America like they did in California.

(Move along, nothing to see here.)

Or what about a headline from today’s news?
Google Vows to Fight U.S. Air Pollution While Censoring Data on Chinese Smog

(It’s ‘probably nothing’, right?)

And pay no attention to the close cooperation between the Left-wing [formerly called Mainstream] Media(D) employees pressuring platforms to cancel service to their right-of-center critics. Let’s not forget that CNN, the main target of the Alex Jones’ parody video contest, ‘The Great Meme War’ had employees who actively campaigned to discredit and silence Alex Jones from all social media access. And publicly shamed those who reacted too slowly to said pressures.

Even those of us on the right write Jones off as basically a Troll or sh*tposter stirring the internet outrage pot [which is practically everyone] saw no reason to demand he be excommunicated from the internet.

Have you even SEEN the stuff out there that passes for ‘acceptable’?

Have we already forgotten that time 4 Facebook users live-streamed the abduction and torture of a disabled kid?

Can you even imagine the size of lawsuit that one family ALONE would drop on Facebook if it is ruled they have been behaving as editors and publishers, rather than an open platform that has control over the opinions therein?

Tech giants can’t have it both ways. Are they in favor of EVERYONE’s freedom, knowing that some will misuse it, or are they personally liable for the content on their platform?

That’s the question Ted Cruz had the sense to press Zuckerberg on when so many other elected officials didn’t know what the hell they were talking about.
