In 2015, Giorgi Bereziani of Tbilisi, Georgia lost his dog. Giorgi put up ads and searched the streets but had no success in finding his beloved companion. After three years of searching, it was likely that his dog, Jorge, was gone for good.
Recently, Giorgi received a call from employees at an opera house telling him that a dog that looked like his was walking around outside their building. Giorgi went there immediately and recorded his journey.
Giorgi saw a black and white dog lying down under a tree outside the opera house. He wasn’t sure that it was Jorge, but when he called his name, the dog lifted its head and rose to his feet wagging his tail. He sniffed at his owner and began whimpering.
It seems that it wasn’t just Giorgi that was in disbelief at the reunion.
‘Jorge, is that you? Jorge, it’s you! Oh, dear boy, how are you, boy?‘ asks a stunned Giorgi.
Jorge whimpers and seems absolutely thrilled to see his owner. On the video, a yellow tag can be seen on Jorge’s ear which means that animal control had taken him and gave him shots assuming that he was a stray, and then returned to the streets because he was not deemed to be a threat to the community.
Giorgi and Jorge were reunited on October 7, 2018.
