BOOM! Wounded Navy SEAL, Who Was Ridiculed By SNL Punk, Just Got The LAST LAUGH

‘He who laughs last, laughs best.’

Ain’t that the truth.

Pete Davidson isn’t having a good fall. But it has been spectacular. First, the Saturday Night Live cast member and Ariana Grande broke off their engagement after getting several matching tattoos, then he sparked controversy for a stupid bit on Saturday Night Live.

It’s been a very different story for former Navy Seal Dan Crenshaw who just won his seat in the House. Somewhat courtesy of Pete Davidson. Crenshaw, 34, is now the youngest member of the House of Representatives.

In the waning days of the campaign, Davidson decided to mock the appearance of Republican candidates on SNL’s Weekend Update segment and included Dan Crenshaw who lost one eye after an IED exploded in front of him. (Davidson did include Andrew Cuomo to be ‘bipartisan’ but c’mon, that one was just too easy.) The SNL comedian said that Crenshaw looked like ‘a hitman in a porno movie‘ and laughed at his own joke (which is incredibly gauche) and then added in the caveat, ‘I’m sorry. I know he lost his eye in the war or whatever.

Unfortunately for Davidson, many Americans on both sides of the aisle found him mocking a war injury distasteful and just not funny.

The joke itself, the ensuing backlash, and Crenshaw’s awesome response propelled him into the spotlight and boosted his profile in his congressional race.

Crenshaw won handily.

The Navy SEAL veteran who was mocked by Pete Davidson for losing an eye in Afghanistan has won his House race and become Texas’ youngest congressional representative.

Republican Dan Crenshaw, 34, was declared winner with 53 per cent of the vote with 87 per cent of precincts reporting.

He beat Democrat Todd Litton, who received 45 per cent of the vote, and will replace outgoing Republican Rep. Ted Poe in U.S. House District 2.

There’s no such thing as bad publicity.

Especially when there were a lot of women that seemed to disagree with Davidson’s take on Crenshaw.

[Crenshaw] intensified his criticism of the young comedian during an appearance on Fox and Friends on Monday morning, however, and said NBC should apologize.

‘Listen, I have thick skin. In the SEAL teams we poke fun at each other all the time, but I have certain rules for when my friends poke fun at me,’ Crenshaw said.

‘It has to be original, it has to be witty and it has to be actually funny, all right.

‘And this wasn’t funny.’

He went on to say the network ‘should’ apologize but he refused to demand an apology from either NBC or Davidson and suggested that they donate to a veterans charity instead.

He addressed the controversy in his speech to supporters last night with his beautiful wife, Tara. Incidentally, it’s unlikely that Tara Crenshaw has licked donuts on a tray in a donut shop, or said publicly that she ‘hates America’ — just sayin’.

Wow.

He hopes that we can get back to having comedians actually being funny and that we can get back to the foundational values that keep us together as Americans.

Good work, Texas District 2.

Dan Crenshaw looks like a pretty awesome guy with a great sense of humor.
