Hollywood has too many ‘great’ men and too few ‘good’ ones. Gary Sinise is one of the rare few who happens to be both.
While some live the most opulent possible lifestyles, attend all the right parties, belong to the right social clubs and frequent the same rehab centers, one man stands apart from the crowd.
Gary Sinise is doing something that really matters. He backs some great causes and not just the usual PC Hollywood philanthropic ‘flavor of the month’.
He’s doing something that is really making a difference — and we’ve got the pictures to prove it.
More than 1,700 Gold Star family members just got back from a trip to Disney World the families called the “Snowball Express”—an official program of the Gary Sinise Foundation.
The children and spouses of fallen soldiers were loaded into 15 airplanes and treated to an all-expenses paid five-day vacation in Orlando, Florida.
“Each one of these children who are going on these airplanes have lost a parent in military services—either combat related or illness or unfortunately suicide sometimes. We wanna take care of these kids and make sure they know we don’t forget,” actor Sinise told KCAL9.
Meanwhile, the Nashville airport came to a complete standstill and the crowd was treated to a rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner, with military members giving a salute.

An entire airport came to a stop long enough for the anthem to be sung in their honor. Try and watch THIS without ‘getting something in your eye’.

Notice how the labels and politics all fall away for a brief, shining moment, and everyone there is simply an American grateful for their sacrifice.
There’s still hope for our great nation, yet.

It’s almost easy to forget in this festive season with OUR families that not everyone who served our great nation did it safely home to THEIR families.
It’s nice to see Patriots giving back to the loved ones who are truly paying that price on a day-by-day basis.
It’s nicer still that they were given a little joy in a season where that empty seat at the table will be particularly noticed.
God bless these Gold Star families.
God bless Gary Sinise’s foundation for taking care of our vets and their families.
And God Bless America!
