Ocasio-Cortez Declares SPA Days ‘Political’ – No, This Isn’t Satire
She hasn’t officially started her job yet and Rep-Elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is already taking a vacation.
The new session of Congress will begin on January 3 at noon. Despite this, the 29-year old girl from the Bronx is going to take some time for herself before she starts what will be a truly difficult job for her.
I assume that she will have a rough go of it because she seems to clearly be puzzled by what the government is and how it works. Additionally, she opens her mouth to insert her foot and opens it again only to change feet.
Yes, I’m sure we’ll get our money’s worth with this ‘Democratic Socialist’ member of Congress.
She advocates socialism but, like many of the other champagne socialists (*cough* Bernie *cough*) she loves to live the good life.
Speaking of the good life, on Monday she announced on Twitter that she was going to take ‘a few days’ to ‘take care’ of herself before an ‘eventful term’ in office.
She was praised for being ‘honest’ about how it’s hard to avoid burnout in a challenging job and challenges the idea that ‘working hard’ means that you actually have to work hard. She says that she went from practicing yoga 3-4 times per week and cooking wild rice and salmon dinners for herself to falling asleep in her clothes with her makeup still on and eating fast food after the long days campaigning. (Campaigning that paid off, by the way.) She says that the challenges to ‘self-care’ is especially difficult for those that are from economically difficult backgrounds, immigrants, minorities, and women. This is because she’s got to toss in identity politics into literally ALL OF THE THINGS.
So, she’s taking some time for herself after all that hard work of campaigning. She says she is doing it because ‘self-care is political.’
I’m taking a few days to take care of myself before what is sure to be an eventful term.
For working people, immigrants, & the poor, self-care is political – not because we want it to be, but bc of the inevitable shaming of someone doing a face mask while financially stressed./1 https://t.co/EWdWFmPwet

She literally just politicized self-care.
Never fear! Ocasio-Cortez has announced that you can join her on her self-care journey via Instagram (IG).
So I’ve decided to take others along with me on IG as I learn what self-care even means and why it’s important.

Ocasio-Cortez has been touted as the ‘future’ of the Democratic Party.
God help them.
Ocasio-Cortez is taking some heat for her decision to take a spa break. One of her critics is a woman that lives in New York’s 14th Congressional District.
You literally have the ability to politicize every single thing in life..even simple things like a face mask become a negative, complicated subject with you. Go away, enjoy your few days and give us all a break from your constant attention seeking.

Unlike you Brian, she represents my district. So unfortunately the community I live in will reap the results of her self-involvement and obsession with social media. Would be much more comfortable to see her reading a book or two and preparing for the job at hand.

Others are just annoyed that she’s taking a break hot on the hells of having taken a break after winning the election in November.
She's been there for 5 minutes, GTFO!

She hasn’t done anything typical millennial. Needs some down time from being exhausted from doing nothing.

There’s one guy that seems to have boundless energy and he’s 43 years her senior. That’s right, our very own hard working President Trump. Who manages to get a tremendous amount done and still take time to enjoy the good life and a round of golf.
