Dear CNN: Report Says Pelosi Pelosi Charged Air Force $200K To Fly Her Around – Is That ‘News?’
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is very concerned that money spent on a border wall is ‘wasteful’ but she has no trouble billing the Air Force for a little pleasure stop on her Congressional Delegation trips. Here’s the 411…
Judicial Watch submitted a Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA) request to examine how much money Rep. Pelosi has spent on trips abroad similar to the one that was canceled at the eleventh hour by President Trump. It turns out that Nancy has been spending a mucho taxpayer dinero on her Congressional Delegation (CODEL) trips.
According to recent documents obtained by Judicial Watch, the total cost of Pelosi’s 2015 CODEL to Italy and Ukraine aboard Air Force planes was a whopping $184,587.81. At the time, the Washington Post was questioning why the CODEL was stopping in Italy when Ukraine was in a time of prolonged national crisis.
What was weird is that the 2015 trip that included Italy also had 4 family members with her, including her husband Paul Pelosi. Why oh, why, would you take your family to a place that was in the midst of upheaval?
The Daily Caller may have solved that enigma:
Four family members, including Pelosi’s husband Paul Pelosi, were slated to go on the trip. The delegation was scheduled to dine at restaurants including James Beard American Restaurant in Milan, where a five-course meal cost up to $190, according to Fine Dining Lovers. The lawmakers also toured the Vatican and met up with Italian dignitaries, including President Sergio Mattarella and then-Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, according to their itinerary.
They also went to Naples and Rome. Sounds like a fantastic vacation! Pelosi and Co. treated it like that even having the audacity to request that the Air Force send a specific flight crew.
ClashDaily noted in our earlier report that she has been doing this for years, and Judicial Watch has been monitoring her on it.
It’s not just international flights, Rep. Pelosi has a history of using Air Force jets to travel between Washington D.C. and her district in California. In just two years, Pelosi billed the taxpayer $2,100,744.59 worth of travel expenses, a massive $101,429.14 was for ‘in-flight conveniences’ such as food and alcohol. Wowza!
Speaker Pelosi’s trips are extravagant, to say the least. Judicial Watch compared Pelosi’s trips to a 2015 CODEL trip to a multi-stop trip in East Asia by Sen. Cory Gardner (R-CO) who sits on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, at the comparatively meager cost of $26,009.03. That trip included a stop in Tokyo, Japan which is a notoriously expensive city to visit.
But that $5 billion that President Trump wants for the wall? Well, that’s just irresponsible spending. Just think about how much drunk Democrat members of Congress could get on that much money!
