“Two potent racial symbols — MAGA hats and blackface — have been in the news. They may not
appear related at first blush, but they belong on a political continuum that ranges from racial
provocation to outright racism. They share DNA.”
This declaration was made on February 5, 2019 in The Los Angeles Times by Robin Abcarian. Abcarian continues, “Wearing a ‘Make America Great Again’ hat is not necessarily an overt expression of racism.
But if you wear one, it’s a pretty good indication that you share, admire or appreciate President Trump’s racist views about Mexicans, Muslims and border walls.” The ridiculous assertion that MAGA hats indicate racist views and those who support President Trump are also racist is part of a larger campaign of hate the Democrats and the media have for those who hold a different worldview than they do. It is another lie, layered upon other lies, that attempt to intimidate, besmirch and ruin those who believe in traditional values.
Jennifer Wright, in a January 31, 2019 edition of Harper’s Bazaar writes, “Do you know why people think MAGA hats are a symbol of hatred? Because people wearing them keep doing hateful things.”As an example, Wright noted, “And though they were not wearing hats at the time, just this week, the guys who beat up Empire star Jussie Smollett and doused him in bleach reportedly shouted ‘MAGA country!’ along with other racist and homophobic slurs.”
Wait a minute. There may be more to that story. It may well be a non-story.
The Boston Herald, in a February 19, 2019 editorial notes, “As Jussie Smollett’s account of his alleged assault falls apart, it is important to note that politicians, the media and influential voices did their best to fan the flames of outrage, based on nothing but the dark premise that conservatives and Trump supporters are evil.”
That’s the point, though. The Democrats and their media accomplices do not care about the truth. If they did, we wouldn’t be plagued by the interminable Mueller probe; incessant whining about Russian collusion; and pompous insinuations of how the economy is bad.
The Democrats and the Media have one goal: Destroy the president and smear his legion of
supporters.
Here’s a sampling from the many Democrat aspirants to challenge the president in 2020. Regarding
the Smollett story, The Boston Herald reports, “Presidential hopefuls Cory Booker and Kamala Harris each labeled the supposed attack a ‘modern-day lynching,’ with Harris adding that, “We must confront this hate.’”
Kirsten Gillibrand tweeted, “This is a sickening and outrageous attack, and horribly, it’s the latest of too many hate crimes against LGBTQ people and people of color. We are all responsible for condemning this behavior and every person who enables or normalizes it …”
Joe Biden tweeted, “What happened today to @JussieSmollett must never be tolerated in this country. We must stand up and demand that we no longer give this hate safe harbor; that homophobia and racism have no place on our streets or in our hearts. We are with you, Jussie.”
Hollywood entertainers also seem to despise those of us who watch their movies.
Rob Reiner’s tweet about Smollett said, “The horrific attack on Jussie Smollett has no place in a decent human loving society. Homophobia existed before Trump, but there is no question that since he has injected his hatred into the American bloodstream, we are less decent, less human, & less loving. No intolerance! No DT!”
Uh huh. The only hate in this story is the hate the left, the Democrats and the Media have for regular Americans who support President Trump.
You’d think the Media might have learned a little from their despicable behavior in the Covington Catholic school students’ story with Nathan Phillips. They didn’t.
Ben Shapiro, in the National Review on February 19, 2019, noted the lies of the Media. He writes, “The Washington Post’s Eugene Scott stated, ‘To many, the Smollett incident — and the political nature of the assault — is yet another reminder for many black gay Americans that this president’s vision of a ‘great America’ does not appear to include them.’”
He then notes that Jamil Smith of Rolling Stone tweeted, “The brutal attack on him in Chicago
appears to be yet another example not just of further moral decay, but of the brand of terrorism that still doesn’t seem to spark enough response by Americans.”
Shapiro continues, “CNN’s Brooke Baldwin simply lamented, ‘This is America in 2019.’”
Can anyone remember journalistic integrity? It’s been a long time.
Shapiro asks a powerful question at the end of his article. Why did the Left buy into this fabricated story? His answer resonates. “Because it perfectly fit narratives that the Left loves: the narrative of America as racist, homophobic hellhole; the narrative of Trump supporters as violent bigots.”
That’s the bottom line. The Democrats, the Media and those on the Left in Hollywood hate President Trump and those who support him. They will use lies to attack and destroy those with whom they disagree. Lies built upon lies, smears and deception. Whatever it takes to get rid of President Trump and his people is the mantra of the unprincipled Left.
For us on the right, the words from John’s gospel ring out loudly, “You will know the truth and the truth will set you free.”
