Hey Dem Senators, Fairfax(D) Is Being MeToo’d Where’s Your ‘Believe All Women’ Now?

Where is the ‘righteous outrage’ of those same Senators now? Why is there no ‘Spartacus’ moment for a case with far MORE substantiating evidence?

Yes, that’s rhetorical. We all know the reason, don’t we?

It’s the (D) after his name. This was a naked power-grab then and they’re afraid of losing that power now… especially with the chance of a Republican being in the line of succession… during a redistricting year.

A perfect storm has just hit the Democrats, and it’s laid bare their party’s soul. And what we can all see ain’t pretty.

Let’s recap. Almost lost in the shuffle of Virginia crashing into the news cycle, between the clinical defense of infanticide, and the blackface yearbook story, among others (the most current recap is here) the allegations of sexual assault against Fairfax almost got completely eclipsed.

Now that the story has had some time to play out and we’re seeing who the players are, pay attention to the parallels between this case and the Kavanaugh case. (Aside from the obvious difference that both sides agree that SOMETHING really did happen, and can cite time and place even if they dispute the consent aspect.)

Facts:

1) Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax(D) was the heir apparent when it looked like Gov. Northam’s political career was toast.

2) When it looked like Fairfax was going to get an unexpected promotion, sexual assault allegations suddenly became public.

3) The Attorney General — who would have been the third in line of succession — had a blackface story of his own come out.

4) The accuser, Vanessa Tyson is a professor. When it was Kavanaugh’s accuser, the media broke with stylistic conventions to place a ‘Doctor’ before her name.

5) The media knew about the allegations and sat on this story for more than a year.

6) At least one other elected Democrat knew about this story for at over a year.

7) She is of the SAME political party as the Attorney-General and cannot be accused of playing partisan politics.

8) She has been denounced as ‘smearing’ Fairfax, and has been threatened with legal action.

9) The law firms hired by each side are the same firms that were involved in the two sides of the Kavanaugh/Ford drama that played out in the hearings.

Vanessa Tyson, a Stanford University fellow and associate professor at Scripps College in California, released a detailed letter through her lawyers Wednesday in which she said she reluctantly went public to dispute what she called Fairfax’s “smear campaign” against her.

“With tremendous anguish, I am now sharing this information about my experience and setting the record straight … Mr. Fairfax has tried to brand me as a liar to a national audience, in service to his political ambitions, and has threatened litigation. Given his false assertions, I’m compelled to make clear what happened,” she wrote.

Tyson described herself as a “proud Democrat,” whose only interest was to refute the “falsehoods and aspersions of my character,” she wrote.

Fairfax, also a Democrat, released a statement Monday calling the accusations “false and unsubstantiated.” In another statement on Wednesday, he said that the encounter with Tyson was consensual.

…Tyson’s letter was released through the law firm Katz, Marshall & Banks, which also represented Christine Blasey-Ford, the Stanford University research psychologist who accused Justice Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault in 1982.

…While they were in the hotel room, Tyson wrote, Fairfax caught her off guard by kissing her. While the kiss was consensual, Tyson said, what happened next was not. She said Fairfax unbuckled his pants, grabbed her head and forced her to perform oral sex on him.

“I cannot believe, given my obvious distress, that Mr. Fairfax thought this forced sexual act was consensual,” Tyson wrote.

Tyson wrote that she avoided him for the rest of the convention, and never spoke to him again.

“After the assault, I suffered from both deep humiliation and shame,” Tyson writes. “I did not speak about it for years, and I (like most survivors) suppressed those memories and emotions as a necessary means to continue my studies, and to pursue my goal of building a successful career as an academic.”

Kamala Harris is among those that are taking the accusation seriously, but some of the prominent voices to call for Kavanaugh’s head on a plate have fallen mysteriously silent.

Democratic senators who condemned Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct allegations refused to acknowledge the sexual assault allegations that have emerged against Virginia Democratic Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax when asked by The Daily Caller News Foundation Thursday.

When asked if the same standard should be applied to Fairfax, a Democrat, as it was applied to Kavanaugh during his confirmation hearings, the five Democratic senators asked, who all opposed Kavanaugh’s confirmation due to the allegations, all dodged the question or acted like they had not heard about it, despite the fact it has been major national news for nearly a week.

Feinstein, when asked if the two cases should be compared? “No.” She continued, “it’s really up to the people in the area.”

Tim Kaine — himself from Virginia — said there is not an investigation into Dr. Tysons’ allegations.

Both Kaine and Warner made themselves scarce when pressed with questions about Fairfax.

Senator Bob ‘hung jury’ Menendez, who had plenty to say about the supposed guilt of Kavanaugh suddenly said he doesn’t do hallway interviews when asked about Fairfax.

The best one yet is Bernie. He let the whole world know that he believed Ford over Kavanaugh, but now that reporters are looking for Democrats to go on the record about Fairfax…?

They play games like this one.
