It makes you wonder if Minnesota is beginning to regret sending her as a representative yet.
Then again, Minnesota has sent us some real doozies, haven’t they?
Let’s have a look at Ilhan Omar hard at work in the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
If this exchange is any indication of her future conduct in that role, Pence has the right idea when he said this:

She opens by abusing the witness, refusing to give him any chance to reply. She gets his name wrong. She is openly hostile to him, and she completely twists the words of answers he DOES give to her. Here’s the video to put it in its proper context.
The issue being considered is the present political situation in Venezuela where Omar appears to be defending the status quo with the thug, Maduro, that has been constitutionally disempowered by his own people and government.
Why would this witness be called to speak? Because he is CURRENTLY
With Omar facing a string of complaints about Anti-Semitism, her own conduct toward this Jewish witness and respected ambassador,
“Mr. Adams, in 1991 you pleaded guilty to two counts of withholding information from Congress regarding your involvement in the Iran-contra affair for which you were later pardoned by President George HW Bush,” Omar said. “I fail to understand why members of this committee or the American people should find any testimony that you give today to be truthful.”
“If I can respond to that,” Abrams responded.
“Ah, em, it wasn’t a question,” Omar fired back.
Abrams again tried to respond and Omar rudely cut him off.
“That was not that was not a question,” Omar yelled. “That was, I, I reserve the right to my time.”
“It is not right that members of the committee can attack a witness who is not permitted to reply,” Abrams said.
“That was not a question, thank you for your participation,” Omar arrogantly said.
Omar later asked Abrams if a foreign massacre was a “fabulous achievement” and refused to accept his answer.
“Yes or no, do you think that massacre was a fabulous achievement that happened under our watch?” Omar asked.
“That is a ridiculous question,” Abrams responded.
“Yes or no?” Omar yelled.
“No!” Abrams fired back.
“I will take that as a ‘yes,'” Omar shockingly responded.

She went on to assume that the American Military — if called upon to intervene in the situation in Venezuela — would commit atrocities upon civilians if she did so.
What a peach, eh?
SPECIAL ENVOY Abrams, had an opportunity to speak freely again once he was outside of that hearing:
In his opening statement, Abrams called on the armed forces to help Venezuela reclaim its legitimacy and no longer support the authoritarian Maduro.
“For those remaining supporters of the regime, we have one, simple message: Your time is up,” Abrams said. “A new, free, and prosperous Venezuela will rise, and your fellow citizens will remember who stood by them in their struggle.”
The Republican National Committee ripped Omar in a statement to the Washington Free Beacon, calling her attacks on the longtime diplomat “un-American.”
“In recent days the world has witnessed the support the U.S. has offered the Venezuelan people with the ultimate goal of restoring democracy in their country.,” RNC Director and Spokesperson of Hispanic Media Yali Nuñez said. “For Rep. Ilhan Omar to attack the character of U.S Special Envoy to Venezuela, Mr. Elliott Abrams, a public servant and patriot is just simply un-American . In less than a week she has managed to offend both the Jewish and Hispanic communities in the U.S.”
