HOLLYWOOD PRIVILEGE: Smollett’s Hoax Charges Were Dropped — Did The Obamas Pull Some Strings?

The Empire actor and singer may not be in the clear after all…

The federal charges for sending a hoax hate letter through the mail is still pending.

In a shocking move yesterday, all 16 felony charges against Jussie Smollett for allegedly orchestrating a hoax hate crime against himself in late January were suddenly dropped. The case laid out by the police seemed airtight against Smollett. The Chicago Police had thoroughly investigated the incident and watched hundreds of hours of surveillance video to try to catch the perpetrators. The two men that Smollett allegedly paid to attack him, Olabinjo and Abimbola Osundairo, cooperated with investigators and provided Chicago police receipts for the masks, rope, and red hats they purchased, as well as the alleged payment by Smollett in the form of a $3,500 check. The police even had text messages and records of phone calls between the Osundairo brothers and Smollett before and after the attack. There was surveillance footage of Smollett and the Osundairos at the scene where it appears that Smollett was showing them where the attack was to take place and points out the surveillance camera that will capture it.

The evidence pointed to Smollett paying two Nigerian brothers to do the job Americans were apparently not willing to do — perpetrate a hate crime against a famous gay, black man in the middle of the night in Chicago during the polar vortex.

Chicago police claim that Smollett orchestrated this elaborate (and unbelievable) hoax hate crime because he was dissatisfied with his reported salary of $125,000 per episode.

Incidentally, Smollett maintains his innocence and claims that he has been completely truthful the entire time:

So, it appears that there is zero remorse for vilifying Trump supporters as racists and possibly igniting what could have been an actual race war.

But now, all of those charges have not only been dropped — they’ve been erased.

The prosecutor declared afterwards that he believed Smollett fabricated the incident, and that “people lying to police is certainly important and deserves accountability.”

But all charges were dropped, Smollett pled guilty to nothing, his record was expunged, no written records of the deal were filed with the court, and all existing records of the crime were sealed. Judging from Smollett’s public statements, he’s not even willing to admit he fabricated the attack, telling reporters, “I have been truthful and consistent from day one.”

In exchange for forfeiting his $10,000 bond, the prosecutors gave up everything. The prosecutors seemed to indicate that Smollett had somehow completed any community-service requirements in advance, citing Smollett’s completing 18 hours volunteer work at the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, which included “critiquing its broadcast.”

But wait! There’s more!

Rev. Jesse Jackson’s Rainbow PUSH Coalition wrote, ‘We are proud to have received the volunteer service from Mr. Jussie Smollett on Saturday, March 23, and Monday, March 25. Mr. Smollett is one of the most impactful community service volunteers that we have ever worked with.’

So, Smollett handed over $10K and completed between 16 and 18 hours of ‘community service’ — that’s about an hour for each federal charge — which he completed literally the day before the charges were dropped.

This is almost as fishy as Smollett hiring two men of Nigerian descent to play the role of white supremacist Empire fans.

How the heck did that happen?

Well, it seems that there was an Obama Connection. Michelle Obama’s former Chief of Staff, Tina Tchen, emailed the Illinois State Attorney, Kim Foxx, and asked her to intervene in the case.

Texts and emails between State Attorney Kim Foxx and two Jussie allies — one of which is reported to be a family member of his — have been leaked, and they show that Foxx was asked to intervene in the case a few days after he’d reported the alleged attack to Chicago PD. It appears that she did exactly that … and kept Jussie’s camp in the loop.

The initial correspondence started when Michelle Obama‘s former chief of staff, Tina Tchen, emailed Foxx to say that she was reaching out on behalf of Jussie’s family to express “concerns” they had with how the investigation at that point was being handled.

Michelle Malkin points out that Tina Tchen seems to be rather buddy-buddy with one of Jussie Smollett’s sisters, Jurnee Smollett-Bell.

By the way, that’s the same Tina Tchen that was just hired by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) to investigate allegations of ‘workplace harassment’ in the wake of the firing of co-founder Morris Dees.

And it’s also the same Kim Foxx who appears to have been funded to the tune of $408,000 by none other than George Soros.

Jussie Smollett has danced with Michelle Obama on stage at a college event:

Now questions are being asked if the Obama connections had anything to do with not just the charges against Smollett being dropped, but his record expunged.

The Chicago Police Union is now calling for a federal investigation into the Tchen-Foxx communications regarding the Smollett case.

A Chicago police official suggested Tuesday that Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx was behind the decision to drop all charges against Jussie Smollett — even though she recused herself from the case last month.

“Recusing herself, but not her administration, is a distinction without a difference,” Fraternal Order of Police Second Vice President Martin Preib told The Post. “What underling is going to go against their boss’s wishes?”

The outrage over the charges against Smollett being dropped is not limited to the MAGA crowd.

In a shocking development, Chicago Mayor, Rahm Emanuel, an Obamaite is 98 percent right here:

(The 2 percent that he got wrong is the deliberate disinformation about Trump’s ‘good people on both sides’ comments in the wake of the Charlottesville riots. Here is the transcript.)

Even Barry’s former advisor, David Axelrod thought it was ‘outrageous’.

Fox News reports that Smollett’s legal trouble may not be completely over. Remember that ‘threatening letter’ that he received with white powder in it? It’s believed that Smollett fabricated that crime and when it didn’t get the attention he believed it deserved he escalated to the attack hoax in his attempt to increase his victim status.

An investigation into a death-threat letter the actor supposedly received prior to an alleged Jan. 29 attack against him has been handed over to the FBI, Chicago Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi told Fox News. Cook County, Ill.

As much fear as there has been over the allegedly ‘authoritarian’ President Donald Trump, it was under the Obama administration that an absolute disdain for the rule of law was the norm.

Justice isn’t blind anymore — under the Obama administration, her blindfold was ripped off and they made sure that the weights were put on her scales to punish their enemies and exonerate their friends.

That’s precisely what we’re seeing here.

Now, we have to wait and see just how far the ‘Friends of Obama Privilege’ can get you, or, hope that the swamp has been sufficiently drained and the feds will actually bring us back to everyone being treated equally under the law — no matter who your friends happen to be.
